 Kick Ass
This movie looks fun and surprising. I can't believe a want to see something with one of my most hated actors, the ever boring and droll he-who-shall-not-be-named (ya, he's the old guy). Looks like a cross between The Watchmen and Brian K. Vaughan's The Runaways. http://www.imdb.com/video/imdb/vi2030306329/

 Re: Kick Ass
I saw it about a month ago at a "select" showing. It was fantastic! I cannot wait until I can go see it again. The story is pretty close to the comic and the action and music are top notch.
It was kinda nice to see Nic Cage do something decent for a change. This movie will be in my top 5 for 2010

 Re: Kick Ass
I posted the trailer for this ages ago, no one seemed to care. But I saw it this weekend and it's fan-flipping-tastic! I've been raving about it all weekend, and today to anyone who stands still long enough for me to open my mouth. And yes, I was shocked that Cage actually didn't bother me for once.
If you don't love this film, your heart is a cold, dark, wasteland of bemon vomit.

After seeing the first trailer I went out and picked up the book, and I loved the shit out of it! I can't wait to see the movie.

This looks cool, sometimes I think Mark Millar sucks, truth. A lot of times I feel his ideas are just recycled and totally obvious. BUT this at least looks fun over all else. I wish I could see it at the C2E2 premier coming up in Chicago but I work that night, suUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUcks!

He deserved a lot of flak for sleepwaking some roles. But in general I like him and his good films just about outweight the bad. Seems like he's coming good again though, thankfully.

I'm not saying it's unwarranted, but seeing Bad Lieutenant really changed my perception of the guy - now I'm convinced that he's either having the time of his life with all the garbage scripts thrown at him or that he's simply batshit insane (I tend to think the latter). Seems it takes someone of equal madness like Lynch or Herzog to channel that weird energy and bring out the best in him... In any case I find him highly entertaining! And come on, the Wicker Man remake was HILARIOUS! Maybe not in a good way, but still hilarious.

I got so caught up looking for more trailers that I never responded One of the few movies I'm looking forward to seeing. Some of the other clips were pretty cool...like the one where Nic shoots the little girl so she knows what it feels like to be shot at with a 9mm. It was a pretty funny scene. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6LUfFTvrWB4

---NT--- wrote: Nick Cage was great in Adaptation. yeah he was. an unbelievably well-written film and cage nailed his roles in it. I think this ties into bunnyboy's bad lieutenant comments. it really does seem like cage does whatever action film will pay for his elvis memorabilia addiction. maybe he just knows what roles he'll really excel in playing and doesn't get offered them enough. so, to bide his time, he makes crappy action-adventure-horror-fauxarchealeogical pictures.

 Re: Kick Ass
More that sometimes he gets to work with a great director that pulls out the most of his wee bit of talent.
Just read the comic. Fun. Hard core. Now I am looking forward to The Boys being made into a film.

He was great in Peggy Sue Got Married and Wild At Heart is one of my favorite movies. Even in Moonstruck he is great. Vampire's Kiss? Well, I think that was a missunderstood movie. Some of the lines in that one are really funny though. I may have an online reputation of defending Nic Cage...
