Many people showed up and there were trades a plenty! Group picture went well. I'm sure Joe will have some coverage hopefully.

 Re: BASK 2010 Trade Fest (Sat 3/27, 10AM @ Super7) Roll Call!
Big thanks to S7 for hosting the event and for the delicious sweets. Props and thanks to all I traded and conversed with. There was a really good spirit there today. I arrived thinking "my stuff sucks and nobody wants it" but walked out like a bandit, thanks to Skullbrainer generosity and willingness to cut good deals. It's always like that. BASK does rock. So good to see some folks for the first time in awhile ... Shannon and Aaron, autopsy, uberboy, uberBert, liljapan and others ... I was surprised that not all of the Paul Kaiju customs sold but I think some folks were understandably distracted by the trading. I was so hypnotized while staring at the trade table that I barely even noticed when someone snuck up behind me and "goosed" me.

I'm not pretty enough for Jeff. But that jacket was something else! I don't want to embarrass the gooser. I just want revenge. It was great meeting you too pollard_hunter! After all this time, it seemed overdue. Same with a few other folks. Hope to see "the new faces" in the future.

Big thanks to S7 for putting this on. And thanks to all who brought food and coffee. Great seeing everyone as usual along with some new faces. Oh, and big thanks to Mr. Humphreys for bringing the free swag! Here's a little coverage: http://www.flickr.com/photos/34295608@N ... 591583373/

A great time was had by all.....great company, good food, free/donation swag (hope Mr Bean received a reasonable donation fund...and good fortune goes out to the lil fella), a flurry of Trade Bait (what a Feast), great trades (Thank you Eric and Kirkland....my Boogie and Rangeas family thank you as well), and as always a great together lunch.
Thanks to Super7 for allowing us to take over the store and to Joe for setting it up!!!!

I was going to list all the toys I wanted from those pictures but there's so much good stuff I lost track, hope I can get out to one in the future. Great event.

Kirkland was out kinda late (for his age) so you won't get to see the videos/pics that he took.

 Re: BASK 2010 Trade Fest (Sat 3/27, 10AM @ Super7) Roll Call!
kirkland was gonna beat up these european tourists for a second too. they exhibited that rare type of racism that is usually exhibited by ignorant moms. By calling them mom-like, I mean to say that it was really quite innocent.
the scenario: several early twenties European tourists of Aryan/Nordic descent approach three dudes on the street in San Francisco's Japantown. one of the three dudes on the street is asian and the first words out of the young toeheaded lads are "Do you speak English?" followed by "Where can I find a karaoke bar?" It was kind of awesome. California is a very asian-american state and their ignorance of this was quite apparent. I mean didn't they get Kung Fu with David Carradine over there in Europa? That shit is historically accurate, so obviously the descendants of those depicted in that great series must still be here. but i digress....
I took the chance to loudly comment on their conduct to K and Dustin while they walked away. Using aggressive speech non-chalantly while people walk away is a hobby of mine that I rarely get to practice nowadays. Thanks tipsy euro-dorks looking for karaoke!
it does seem like TradeFest was linked to the Martin/Skinner show in a really nice way for us as Super7 art fans. Just wanted to say how awesome it is being able to come to the store regularly, thanks for being the strange and unique artspace that you have become. I'm sure the store had had enough of us by closing time tho.

Definitely had a great time at Trade Fest. Haven't had that many people show up at S7 in awhile. Always great hanging out w/ the normal crowd along w/ meeting some new people. Big thanks to Super7 for hosting as always and for the coffee & food. Thanks to Alex for bringing the delicious goods from Miette. And Mr. Humphreys rules! Hope Mr. Bean gets better soon. Along w/ the Trade Fest, a few BASK members brought along their favorite toy to show off. Here are some pics of what was brought: http://www.flickr.com/photos/fiendsaint ... 725561634/

I think that would be a cool thread. Mostly because I've dealt with lots of people on here but actually met very few (in real life).

 Re: BASK 2010 Trade Fest (Sat 3/27, 10AM @ Super7) Roll Call!
I got a couple of cynical remarks about my favorite toy. I understand ... I have cooler toys that I like more now, and the thing I brought is considered uncool by some. But I brought my first favorite J-vinyl because it was one of the first to really open my eyes to new aesthetics and think about where the whole neo-kaiju thing was going. However when I got home, my real favorite toy read me the riot act and made me sleep on the couch.
Someone else brought a Matchbox toy. I thought that was so cool ... love over heat.
