Once again you really got to see them in person. They are just sick!

Yeah their huge. I got to take one out of the plastic paint bucket it comes in. They are hollow inside (hallow-cast?) which makes them lighter than they look. The casting is seamless but I can't get past the fact that they still remind me to much of these.... (but not even in the same ballpark)

We must've met b/c you got to touch the GGGs (which makes you someone I met or someone who didn't abide by the "don't touch" signage--heh). I didn't get your handle, so let me know, so I'll know you for next time?

It's definitely a limitation of the 2D Internet that you can't touch these. Spencer's rotocasted resin GGGs had a slick, almost-slippery feel. Last Saturday, I touched rotocasted resin figures by Betso at Dragatomi which felt more like ceramic. I think there's just one GGG left.

Shout out to Cliff and MONSTREHERO! I met Sean, who said the Victim Trio was your baby. AWESOME work, man. They just sold and will be heading up to Canada. :)

Ha! Right on. We drove around and went to Fabric8 a few months back, too. I know you. Somebody bought those MONSTREHEROS you wanted! Good to put a name to a face to a (board)name.

Man, this just drives home how much Austin needs a great show. If it's toy-related then it just doesn't hit Austin. Music we've got. Film. Some art. But forget toys.

Spencer is going to be making some more GGGs. I got to check out the base that he made for them over at his house and they just rock! They do look like glass up close. He really has got the process down to perfection at this point.

hopefully he'll have fixed the paint issue by this next run. at wondercon, I was told that I couldn't touch it and that they couldn't take it out of the jar to show me it because the paint was tacky and holding it would leave irremovable fingerprints.

That's weird. Because 1) They're UNpainted and 2) I thought I took a GGG out of the can for you (but possibly you were with other people and I'm misremembering?) Spencer's Miigiis and GGGs were on the edge of the Wondercon display, so naturally people went grabbing for them. (We had just 3 antique cases for the tall figures and those were occupied by Arbito, MONSTREHERO and Hello, Brute, respectively.) I made little "please do not touch" signs, which went largely ignored. I get nervous in crowds, so I kind of cringed when it happened, but Kristy told the kids not to touch the pieces (in general) because it would leave fingerprints (a white lie I suppose), and that seemed to alert the nearby parents to stop grubby hands! Maybe that's where that came from?

I think there's one remaining GGG in the SF shop at 901 Castro. You are totally welcome to come around and touch it before it ships out!

I've got a green GGG on lockdown when Spencer finishes it. :)

it was the other guy there that told me that, a chap a bit older than yourself. that is weird since there is no paint. and the guy above says he handled one, so i guess i'm wrong. but that was what i was told, i swear jeremy :)

i'm pretty sure it wasn't me you showed one to. i stopped by twice when you guys were very busy setting up at the beginning and then after a run to the container store. i was there when dril and the rest were, but bailed. maybe it was then that you took one out of the jar.

it was near the end of the day on friday when i got a chance to chill over there for a bit and maybe the other guy thought my hands were grubby, which they most likely were.

Ha! Indeed! Now I remember the chaos of the container store. The offer still remains--if you're around for any of the SF shows this weekend: 1AM:SF, GRSF and Super7, stop by the NM shop (open til 7), and ask to see a GGG. Tell 'em Jeremy said so! (Look at me throwing around my weight. What's that? About 150 pounds?)
