Putting down Nicholas Sparks novel, removing panties, applying vagisil, inserting tampon, putting panties back on.

That's better.

I don't keep toys in bags, but if I had any of those toys, I think I'd keep them bagged too.

perhaps.

but the MIBox Zag seems a little over the top, no? I want to believe that one's just an elaborate joke on Joe's part. If not, maybe that one should go in Joe's Kaiju Shop, eh? If a newb snagged one of those and kept in in the box, there'd be a crucifixion!

what you don't know is there's no zag in the box but there is a hole. then joe says "wanna reach in my box to grab a 1 eyed monster?" and you can see where it all goes.

the mysogynist period talk is really annoying. a boys club is boring and thats what this does: keep girls away from skullbrain. comments about menstruation? really? the content on this board is mostly void of the ubiquitous internet sexist commentary. this is a toy thread after all. if you really want to, you could discuss periods in the period thread over here
http://www.cosmopolitan.co.uk/community/channel

one-eyed monster? how about a third leg custom on a zag? double entendre

Zag DOES have a tail so I'm sure that can be worked out somehow.

I don't want to upset any female boardies, I almost didn't post that comment, but I showed it to my GF and she thought it was funny so I went ahead. I'm not misogynistic, I value the perspective female members bring to Skullbrain.
In my mind, a twisted panties or tampon joke and a third leg joke, are pretty much in the same bucket. Yeah I get that a third leg penis joke wouldn't be likely identified as misogynistic, but it's all basically just low sexual penis humor right? So would a comment like that be appreciated by female boardies?

Post Re: Monsters in Bags! (MIB)
^^^ Thank you for your explanation JoeMan. As a female boardie, I must say that I did find the comment degrading and too graphic for my taste, and I did not see the statement as a good analogy of toy cleaniless . Please don't misunderstand me, I'm very tolerant and even enjoy sexual humor, in the right context and with playfulness-especially if it's witty. In fact, I actually snickered at Jmf337's post (so highschool, but a good tongue-and-cheek comparison with hermetically sealing grail toys and trying to get the "full" enjoyment from them  ).

In many cases Kaiju pieces can be very phallic and/or suggest sexuality (subtle and explicit, and this doesn't offend me at all), so discussing this aspect of a toy is only natural. I really appreciate Uberboy, who stepped up to alert people of insensitivity. Thank you Sir Galahad :P .

This is only the opinion of one female boardie, but thank you Joeman for asking the females to express their thoughts, and I am happy that you do value the female perspective.

My comment was suppost to be funny, sorry to offend if I did so. I appreciate girl collectors, I like seeing them at the shows and I hope we can attract more. Now only if my girlfriend can find the same beauty I see in these toys. Probably not tho.

Added: Should I edit my post?

Post Re: Monsters in Bags! (MIB)
Whoops! I am so sorry Jmf337, I didn't mean to say that your comment was offensive, it was not! No need to edit at all  . I meant to say that I could appreciate the humor of "sucking a titty through a sweater" (Hubby had a huge guffaw just now!), compared to keeping your treasures behind a plastic bag. Yep, it is so Asian to want to keep everything wrapped in plastic bags. Mark (who is not Asian) never could understand that, but we Asians just nod in comprehension, when plastic is used :P . I've had to break myself of wanting to hermetically seal everything--how else are you going to play with a toy!

...remain calm and carry on :)

P.S. You might try introducing your girl friend to cutsie kaijus to start off with. How about a Kanegon Toygraph car racer figure or a Butanohana Booska or a Mantango on a tin tricycle? Those mini US Toys Bemulars are so sweet! You could surprise her, and put one of these toys, humorously peering over her dinner plate. If she finds this appealing, I'm sure she can learn to appreciate the more "hard-core" Kaiju later.

Well, you have to learn to crawl before you walk  . I must admit, that Kaiju first seemed spooky and weird (although I like good weird, and some bad weird). Introduce her to the cute stuff first, and then when she's comfortable and curious, take her along with you to a show. Be patient and explain the sculpts and techniques--point out the interesting colors achieved by different paints. I was astounded to see Dead Presidents customs in person--they are so metallilc and luscious. I remember seeing these green embedded ribbony thingies in Paul Kaijus customs, and while I wouldn't necessarily purchase a mutant baby toy, they are fascinating, and the concept of turning your loveable dollies into more of an art context is interesting. I still wonder how PK executes that embedded ribbon effect. These are the small details to point out and explain, and not take Kaijus at face value--so much depth!

Thats funny you mentioned Dead Presidents customs, one of my purchases came with a DP hand paint as well. He must have an amazingly steady hand to create that perfect pin striping.
I was talking to PK about some of his techniques, the Mummy effect is done with masking over and over using different shades. Quite time consuming I'd imagine, but the final product is stunning. I cant wait to get mine on the shelf.

Thank you for explaining the mummy effect (ah! I can understand that "mumminess" now!) :P . See, this is the type of convo you could be having with your girl friend--be patient with her.

Ok, lest I be accused of instigating another Kumbaiya moment, here is my MIB photo

I've started packing, and I never had a chance to release them from their prisions. ...and nope, it's not tacky carpeting, but gift wrap to be used on a vintage kimono :)

Please allow me to clarify that I am not selling or trading my Butanohana figures. Butas and vintage Kaijus are what I'm focusing my toy collection on for now. I AM open to adopting MORE Butas though
