Post Greenberg- spoilers!
I was beyond eerie how much I am so like the Ben Stiller character in this movie. Anyone else see this? Highly recommended!

Post Re: Greenberg
I was really looking forward to it, finally saw it and was a bit disappointed (perhaps because my anticipation was so high). I liked it but didn't love it. The relationship between Greenberg and the nanny wasn't credible IMHO, especially for a misanthrope like Greenberg. Notwithstanding that, I could definitely relate to him in a lot of ways.

It's funny because almost all the reviewers on Rotten Tomatoes describe Greenberg as a thoroughly unlikeable guy that no one would want to spend time with. But I'm like "wait a minute! He's exactly like a lot of my friends!" I'd much rather hang out with him than the so-called "likeable" people.

BTW, what's up with ending? I was perplexed.

Post Re: Greenberg
See I like his relationship with the nanny. His behaviour with her was absolutely deplorable but she saw through it and realized it was a defense mechanism. Even though the character was completely misanthropic we see a bit of hope when his friend Ivan talks to him in the end about how he embraced an unexpected life. Btw him not going to Australia with the 20 something nitwits and going to the nanny's house I think he turned a corner. The ending was great for me because it allowed the viewer to project either way their future.
