It's really appealing but it's too consumption-oriented for me...seems like you can't really "do" much with it at this point. If it had a stylus & was more designed for handwriting / drawing / photo-editing, I'd already have one. I get the simplicity aspect of just using your fingers for everything, but it should be able to do both.

yup its got stuff for all that but it seems youd need a stylus to really take advantage of the drawing apps. I have adobe ideas and its basically MS paint but you can port it to Illustrator.

Adobe ideas is pretty cool (and free). I've made some pretty fun and neat drawings (IMO) wth it.

Not an app, but similar to Line 2 it seems is Google Voice. Probably familiar with it, but it also reroutes to your cell, or any number of other phones, rings simultaneously. Transcribes voice mail. Free SMS {dropped my AT&T text plan and only use unlimited data at $15/mo now}.
No 800 nbr though, I believe.

My Nexus One is integrated with Google Voice, which is nice.

I got the $40 apple one neoprene sleeve etc. Its ok so far but I dont take it out that often. Doubt it would hold up to a big bail.

Thanks...I've heard good & bad things about the Apple case. I don't plan to travel with mine much (just when I fly). Looking for something that I can use around the house, etc.

I have an iPad and it is indeed pretty good. The Marvel, DC and The Walking Dead apps are all excellent - can't wait to see a similar app for manga. There are also quite a few magazines available and some pretty great games: although iPhone versions for now, Cave's DoDonpachi Resurrection and Espgaluda 2 are ace if you're into Japanese bullet hell shooters, plus MGS Touch, Dead Space, World of Goo all make impressive use of the hardware. Jeff Minter has just release a neat psychedlic asteroid based game called Mino Rescue and these are just a few of the many titles available.
Probably worth waiting for the new model that will be released in a few months time, should have a camera and a USB.

I had a chance to play with one recently. I want one but we are holding out for the next version of iPad. Whenever that drops.
