Those Wonfes lines are insane. I've been attending toy shows at the Big Site for years. The most I can remember is a line of several hundred people waiting for exclusives. Now I hear about people waiting in line for TWO OR THREE DAYS, which is mind boggling.

Is it generally very difficult to get the Real Head and other modern kaiju exclusives, because of this line onslaught?

The dealers get them all, they are inside waiting while all the regular folk are stuck outside.

Its funny you start to think the regular release stuff is ...well just regular. Its still a run of what 30 making them still very rare.

We get so spoiled

I personally believe that those people waiting outside should be given priority. Maybe a hand stamp on the way in would help? When the first person in the line is unable to get the toys then something is going wrong.

Datadub - You attend a lot of these things. Is it your experience that the RealHead, Gargamel, and other con releases never see the light of day because they are all bought up before the con opens to the public?

I'm going to add my 2 cents. I was at the last WCC and YES that is exactly the case. The first person in line wasn't able to get any RxH.
The dealers weren't allowed to line up ahead of time, but BAM MOTHERFUCKER as soon as the doors opened it was a free for all with all the dealers standing two feet from the table. I think they are trying to make it different now. At least I hope they are, but I have said it before if I wait outside forever I'd be damned if some dealer gets one and I don't.

So to answer the question the figure does see the light of day for two seconds, but then only the dealers were able to score some RxH.

Wonderfes is a massive show and most people aren't there for the stuff that most of us are into. Maybe its similar to SDCC in that respect. During the last Wonfes RealHead was actually at a different show in a differnet hall (at the same site) and had figs left over.... that being said the mutant figs are probably going to go quick... we will see what happens.

If I thought I could get one I'd queue, but after wcc I just can't see it happening

I am not sure what Mori is planning this time. Last Data and I suggested he wait 30 minutes to release the RxH, that way the dealers would miss all the exclusives while waiting for the RxH which they probably wouldnt want to do. But who knows, with the secrets going for $200+ they might.

but if the dealers didn't get them they wouldn't show up on YJA, or as many wouldn't show up.

fuck it, I'm going to do an all nighter... and just hope that something is done about the traders

I got the regular release!! I got to the site at 11.00 at night, there were alot of people milling around but no queue....
at about 11.45 this guard pulls out a megaphone and starts making this announcement in japanese-seriously hundreds of japanese guys and about 3 girls mobbed the area- Ive never seen a flashcrowd like that before. At about 12 I realised that there was alist you had to write your name on, I had wasted an hour and ended up number 1407! 1407 people in the queue ahead of me and still 10 hours to go.

The japanese take their toy collecting, or at least their flipping, very seriously!

I managed to get ahead in the queue by helping someone out... By the time the favour was done I probably would have been in the same position but I may have ended up with nothing. Better start queueing at 6 next time...

There were dealers selling the secret figures at around 11000 yen inside the festival but there was no way I was giving them that much cash after they effectively prevented me from getting it in the first place. It was a matter of principal and I was not about to encourage them.

So how did that work? The sign up list came out at 11:45, and after you signed it you were eligible to be #1407 in line? Does that mean you could sign it, go home, and come back the next morning with a guranteed spot in line?

Hey that sounds like a good question except the trains would stop running and you'd be stuck anyway. Besides it's probably be too expensive to do that. Good question though. What do you think Mondo??

the sign up list must have come up well before 11.45, I just didnt know it was there. I spoke to a guy who was number 17 and he had been there for 2 days!
the queue finally atarted to get organised at about 1 in the morning. They seriously did a roll call, and as your name got called out you went to stand in a 4 person wide line. It was 4 in the morning till I was in the line. Even then they werent happy to let you rest.. I got about 20 minutes sleep under a towel before I was awoken and the queue started to slowly shuffle up the steps towards big-site itself.
I guess you could go home but I'd be worried they would start the queue early.

The bloke directly infront of me in the realxhead queue had been number 1200 and had had time to pick something up before hitting the line- maybe I would have been alright even without cheating.
