 Re: night mad mantis
I think the Mantis is Blue GID , unless my eyes are playing tricks on me? I was more focused on the Red at first to notice.

 Re: night mad mantis
I was gonna say that one day SB might just push Mark over the edge, but I think that edge is far behind him already. I wonder if Hiddy does some things, like this, just to fuck with him

 Re: night mad mantis
I would like to know if Hiddy has one of every figure he's released? And more than that, one of each variant?? That would be super impressive to say the least.

If it were me (or you Mark) we'd want to keep one of every variant right? I wnder if most creators feel that way? I sometimes hear Flynn say he doesnt have a version of one of his toys...and with so many DB versions out there - I wonder if Hiddy does?

 Re: night mad mantis
If you don't own one of your own toys can we just shorten that to getting "pickleloafed" from now on?

 Re: night mad mantis
Fuck. That was too easy. Pink, green and orange.
To match my three gid mantises. To match my three gid frankenbrains.
The red glow is insane.
Anyone else?

 Re: night mad mantis
So I've been chatting with folks about their Mantis...Manti?...anyway both of mine are coated in something. One person I've talked to thought it might be mold releaser and his came off with a fingernail scratch. I tried it on mine and it's not going anywhere. Does anyone have any thoughts/similar experiences?...Also if anyone wants to trade an orange Mantis for a red Mantis covered in something let me know! And the red does glow like a mother!

 Re: night mad mantis
I just ordered one and got the green spray. I love it, I ordered one of the new honey bee also, so I was glad to get matching green spray. Mine doesn't seem to be coated in anything. The paint used seems to have a very matte texture. The red glow is intense, and I was glad to see some Hiro Grims art reused on the header.

Mold release wouldn't scratch off, but a topcoat would... mold release is usually a little bit greasy or oily to the touch, and comes off with a little soap and water. I was reading a discussion elsewhere the other day where Mark Nagata was mentioning that many more vinyl painters use topcoat than you'd think... we all assume that because V-color binds to the material, noone would use any sealer, but some of them do for different purposes. The matte feel that JoeMan is describing (and really, all the pics of the Mantis release I've seen) certainly look like no topcoat was used tho. Is the paint on yours as matte/rough feeling? Or much smoother?
