Every show, friends of mine come in from Japan and I help them out in the dealer's room, then the rest of the time I take them to important places like Best Buy and Rutt's Hut, so usually Chiller weekends are pretty busy for me.

it's a big horror convention, probably one of the longest running in the states now. I'm not positive if it's actually the first of it's kind or not, but they're up to like their 13th or 14th year.
they have a dealer room and then rooms where b level and pseudo celebrities from movies and television sign autographs, usually for a small fee.
it's what we nerds horror nerds on the east coast do, usually twice a year. although I usually also go to 2 monster mania cons, horrorfind, probably fangoria, etc.

Oh god...Rutt's Hutt....
Grease-a-riffic deee-lightfulness...my Clifton routine used to be a stop at Outer Limits (R.I.P. ), then a stop at the Hutt....
How do the guys from Japan like the place when you bring 'em, Rog?

We also usually hit the Tick Tock Diner once or twice during the weekend, and then wrap things up Sunday night at Arthur's Steak House in Morristown.
(Food is SERIOUS BUSINESS for us. ;p)

hey Roger, It looks like a Chiller/RFSO/GreaseEatingFest coming together.
If we do it that saturday, would your guests be down for some nerd meet and greet? We would have some crowd.

weekend
NEWS FOR YOUS
So last night I was sitting around with the main man from Toy Tokyo. For a while now we've been kicking around having a get together and I mentioned that RFSO was going to do an East Coast meeting.
So here's what we came up with -- a three way party, held possibly at Toy Tokyo's gallery called The Showroom. The three would be Toy Tokyo, RFSO East Coast (and anyone else) and Kubrick World.
The showroom, as Skyler and others will attest, is a great place plus it's next door to the main TT shop. Their other store, High Five, is 2 stops on the "L" train, so both can easily be hit in the same day.
What we were thinking was food, booze, maybe a swap meet and some goodies, like an exclusive shirt or something. If we do it for Chiller weekend then we'd have plenty of time to cook up something cool.
Thoughts?

hey that sounds killer. Let's all shoot for the showroom on Saturday. Anyone that would want to go to Chiller can meet up on Friday night/afternoon. This could be a 2 day event. I say Mutant Massacre make up the shirts. sounds like a plan coming together.
*The RFSO has to represent now since there will be other party members*

My bass player grew up in West O- he’s always raving about Jimmy Buff’s, but I’ve never been myself.
I’ve also never been to Arthur’s- mainly because, when I was growing up, my aunt was married to one of the Collins brothers, who ran Arthur’s next-door competitor, Collins’. We all remained friendly with the family even after they divorced; I heard that Collins’ has recently closed, tho, so I could finally go to Arthur’s without the fear of offending anyone!
Hhhmmmm....I may be going to Chiller again for the first time in, like, 4 years this Oct....I may be down to meet up, if something is really happening.....have to solidify my plans..........

The meetup at Showroom sounds great!
I'm not sure if I would go to the chiller event Friday with work and all, but I'm going to plan on being down there for Saturday and Sunday that weekend!

Arthur's is amazing. We keep trying to get one of my friends from Japan to tackle the 48 ouncer but he won't bite. He can kill a 24 ouncer in less than 5 minutes (he's pretty quiet and not yakking his head off like the rest of us, which probably helps him accomplish this.
