There's a lot going on in the chaos of paint on a NagNagNag. Wait, are we agreeing? Hahaha now I'm confused. I didn't call someone lazy did I? Or are you pointing out that you didn't know if Elegab got help? Anyway, no big deal. When's Lord Bemon gonna burn one of these on a grill and sell it for 3x the price?

I can't wait to here it. I'm thinking something maybe like this... The aborted fetus of a young Japanese woman raped by a Gaijin, Nag Nag Nag was brought to life by an atomic bomb blast.

Re: Got paranoia?
This thread jus keeps on getting better . . . . In fact this thread may be significantly better than the toy and only fractionally beaten by the artwork! As Dean so rightly pointed out, copyright issue aside . . . damn nice woodcut BTW!

Re: Got paranoia?
I may be socialy inept and sorry if you saw this as some kind of violation of your privacy but i see it as fan art at worse. I didn"t go into your playroom to steal your toys to put them on sale in your driveway, i rather saw one of your fancy toys on a semi-public forum and made myself a copy to play with 'cause i can't afford to buy such fancy things myself. i guess i should have kept to myself as usual (5 posts in 4 years !!!).
If i would have wanted to actually do this for you guys i WOULD have contacted you privately to see if you were interested. As i have no intention of publishing these prints i just posted the block as a contribution to the dialogue. The toy is rude as fuck and i must say i posted in a rude punker joking mood without thinking much about watching my manners:roll:.
That said woodblock is a good option for super fancy header cards for super limited toys, especially as the japanese are asskickingerriffic at it.

I was thinking of contreversy more along the line of a Dunnee version of the "caveman" dressed up as Dutroux in a unlimited run ..

Boglins Corner will also only have wart covered staff. Don't freak, I'll hire non-warted folks too, but I'll give them some fake warts to get the right "feel".

Why do people think this kind of shit is okay? Especially another artist - how would he feel if I did the same thing to him? The same thing has been done to me, and I briefly lost my cool. Worked it out with the two artists who made their own work of mine via some back-and-forth communication, which went well. I intentionally did not comment on the copyright matter in this case because it's not my business. For what it's worth I agree 100% with "ask permission first" and am well versed in copyright issues in the age of the DMCA. Your issue is with zapataloco here, not my comment on his work. No insult to you was intended.

Re: Got paranoia?
At what point did this artwork become yours COOP? I'm not referring to your illustration specifically, as I believe that to be your creation, but the woodcut specifically? Perhaps zapatoloco can comment on the extend to which he actually copied your illustration because from where I'm looking they appear very different.
I'm not trying to stir the pot here but am genuinely interested in hearing your comments on this. As a designer and somebody that works with artists, photographers, illustrators etc. this is, and will continue to be controversial. And what about the creator himself? What's his take on this?

Re: Got paranoia?
Did Mallinder, Kirk and Watson grant permission for the appropriation of the name of their early single "Nag Nag Nag" in a commercial context? Wasn't the first header card also done in a manner intentionally evocative of early Cabaret Voltaire graphics? Isn't some credit or perhaps even compensation due?

Re: Got paranoia?
It is Coops rendering of the Boryoku Genjin. I printed it onto normal paper and traced this onto a sheet of fine paper which i then glued face down on the block. It may seem different because a) it is backwards ( the block is an inverted image of the final print), b) it has gone through a change of mediums, c) i don't have Coops sweet little hands, d) it's in the S7 color palette.
Since i'm not saying its my design and have not been making money off of it i don't really see what the copyright problem is ? As far as how i would feel if someone did this to me i'd be a bit puzzled and flattered, not flippin' angry.

Re: Got paranoia?
Considering the artwork of the Furankeruge version header, I don't think NagNagNag cares much about copyright issues...
Very provocative and violent. I'm not sure there will be any credit whatsoever for the Garamond in the belly...

I think Boryoku Genjin cuts copyrights in half with his radioactive shits.
