I don't know, I find the copyright / art laws pretty interesting. In my limited experience, I always make sure the person buying the art owns that specific image only, not the character represented. For example, Iron Fist clothing has bought several images from me with greasebat on them, http://www.ironfistclothing.com They own those images but I can draw greasebat all day long. But the toyota/scion people are more corporate with long contracts full of legal mumbo jumbo, so I'm careful to never draw something for them that I plan on using for myself at a later date....

When I started out I drew a few things with licensed characters, more like fan art than anything else. I don't do that anymore unless it's for some punk poster that's being used once and nobody profits from it...parody/satire type thing. But then again, I have limited experience with it all.

I liked the blue pubes suggestion, that would be a first for the world of kaiju.
