Woo-hoo!
Love Toho Kong!
There have been some good garage kits over the years, as well- go here: http://www.theclubhouse1.net/museum/modelsgodzilla.htm and scroll down to the “Godzilla Vs” pics- gotta love Paradise’s “Big Swing” kit!
Also, I can’t find a pic- and can’t remember who put it out- but there was a really great 18” rotocast resin kit of Toho Kong- I missed grabbing one for like, $90 last year!

I've been seeing a kit recently of Kong with the Octopus stuck on him, it looks really cool.
Big Swing is a great kit, I've seen some built up that are really incredible.

King Kong Vs. Godzilla
What a film. that octopus scene is so awesomely horrible. you can see the shadows of the spears against the "blue screen" as the "natives" throw them at the octopus attacking their village. that scene is so bad ass and badly done.
also, those natives are so goddamn racist. japanese people with darkening face paint on, in grass skirts and acting "uncivilized". so funny. and the pith helmets on the explorers, outrageously anachronistic.
i've been trying to find some pics of the natives in blackface. i can only seem to find one of the bucktooth translator for the explorers.
this movie is so funny and off and King Kong seems to win. wtf?

I've gotten a few questions about these, so I'm bringing this old thread back up with some new pics added.

 Re: Kingu Kongu tai Gojira
So which Gojira sculpts out there are specific to this movie? I know this is certainly more of a Kong thread than a Goji one, but I only have one sculpt of Goji that is "from" this movie - a Marmit mini w/tree trunk in hand and "splinters" in his mouth.
Are there others?

 Re: Kingu Kongu tai Gojira
Oh yeah, there are tons of '62 Gojis. Most any company that has made Godzilla toys, has made a King Goji.
I think it's one of the more popular Goji suits. It's pretty distinctive.
The '62 King Goji in the pics above is by M1-Go.

 Re: Kingu Kongu tai Gojira
Love the '62 Goji, though the face does look like a toad it suits the retro vinyl look. I remember the M1go 62 Goji being embroiled in a bootleg scandal years back. Personally, Pilot Ace version's the best. Will try to get some pics out.

Yeah, I have King-Goji's, and it's actually of my absolute fave Goji sculpts - the last Goji I got in the mail was a crazy glittery one, in fact Oddly enough, my lil Marmit w/tree trunk & such doesn't have the face I feel that represents the suit. kurumonz wrote: Personally, Pilot Ace version's the best. I'll probably join you if I see one too. I've posted my Pilot Ace over at "No reason Whatsoever"

 Re: Kingu Kongu tai Gojira
Wow - I'd never seen that color version before, but I'll be damned if I don't want it MORE than the example I have in my wants list ( http://www.clubtokyo.org/images/figures ... agreen.jpg). The black colorway seems like it's pupils are oriented differently than the one in that picture, and the mini included is MUCH cooler than the mini of the green version. The blue version comes with an Octopus which merits want all on it's own. I will fess up though, when looking back through my wishlist, I realized that the purple one in question was by Gigabrain, NOT Pilot Ace.

 Re: Kingu Kongu tai Gojira
That black Pilot Ace '62 is lovely!
The sculpt reminds me of the Bear Model '62 with the iceberg accessory.

Apes is actually a company we all know quite well. a pity this is one of those great toy that run into licensing issue and cannot be properly distributed. i have the black 67 kong but have been searching for the matching 62 kong for 3 years now, that is how hard to get.

 Re: Kingu Kongu tai Gojira
Note to self: Never tell KZ John a secret. I have a split set of these. I have the black vinyl '62 and later was lucky to get a blue vinyl '67. They are super hard to find and can be very expensive.

 Re: Kingu Kongu tai Gojira
Marmit did 2 versions of the 62 Godzilla in the "giant" 12-14 inch scale. One is in dark vinyl, possibly dark gray. Not sure because I haven't seen it in person. The other version is brown vinyl with green and gold sprays, one of my favorite vinyls in my collection. Here's a link to the ClubTokyo pics: http://www.clubtokyo.org/listings/itemL ... entID=1892

Are those King Kong's made giant to match? I always assumed they were in the 9.5-10.5" range, as opposed to 12+"
