A friend of mine went to the Michael Giacchino LOST concert last night in LA -- said it was excellent. A full orchestra played music from the series for an hour and 15 or so of the actors read between songs. Then they showed the entire next episode. They also handed these out as people were leaving..

I wonder how many Slusho references there have been on LOST so far?

All that comic needed was a "brotha" thrown into the text.

I still can't wait to see why Desmond ran over Locke, in the non crash world. I have my theories.....Also this week lets hope we hear from Dez, Linus, Richard and Miles.

I honestly laughed my ass off when Jacob told Kate she could have the job if she wanted it. I'm sure that deflated a whole mess of internet speculation. Additionally, I cracked up when Ben offed Widmore. That pretty much nullified that whole part of the storyline.

Also, I groaned when Jack took the "job." I'm really hoping he gets killed in the first hour of the finale. While I think Hugo makes the most sense for the new caretaker, I'm sure it will come all the way around to Desmond.

So where did Miles go?

Richard's death was the worst death I've seen on LOST.

I enjoyed it, nothing to add really. I was too busy eating cereal during the episode to make any real observations.

Not to mention I thought the finale was next Sunday, very excited to see how one of the greatest shows of all time comes to a close.

It's cool that the network let them add 30 minutes to the original finale schedule.

Of course they had to end it on the 23rd!

You know, for several seasons they've been building up this rivalry between Ben Linus and Charles Widmore and it seemed like it would eventually lead to some kind of major conflict. So, they finally meet up face to face and... Ben guns him down? That's it? Really? I feel a little bit cheated on that one. There was a scene a few seasons back where Ben visited Widmore in his (Widmore's) bedroom in the middle of the night. Widmore said something about Ben not being able to kill him, like it was against the rules or something, and Ben seemed to concur and told Widmore that he was going to Kill his daughter Penny. Am I remembering that right? Wasn't there some talk about them not being able to kill eachother? Or did I just infer all of that on my own?

did that meeting between ben and charles happen before alex was killed?
maybe once alex was killed, all bets were off.

In the last episode with the origin story of Jacob and MIB, I think MIB was saying that he could leave the island by using the glowy hole somehow. That was why he was digging and making that wheel. I don't know why he didn't just use the wheel when Ben did though. Ben used it and got dropped in a desert somewhere off the island, why couldn't MIB do that?

I guess I just don't really get that whole part.

That was after - that's why Ben was going to kill Penny in the first place. I believe the killing of Alex broke some sort of "rule" though. And I can't really pinpoint any others, but lurking in my mind is the idea that a few "rules" have been broken.
I concur though, if that's the end of the Ben/Whidmore story I'm a bit let down. And if that was how Richard died I'd also be disappointed in that.
I'm really looking forward to the potential of seeing Eloise in the finale - she seemed to know exactly what was happening even while existing in the sideways world. If we don't see her I'll be disappointed.
Also, in regards to protecting the glory hole - MIB said he was going to destroy the island, and that's where it would happen...with Richard's help since he's impervious to electromagnetic activity. I think that MIB finally realized he failed in his quest to get off the island (by not having Jacob's "chosen" people kill themselves off) and now his only option is to END the island.
I really liked Desmond's disposition in the last episode - he just seemed so pleased with himself!

I'm trying to figure out what the difference is in MIB pre/post him inhabiting Locke's body. But I think this difference has something to do with why he wasn't able to use the wheel. Prior to inhabiting Locke's body MIB could use multiple bodies - he used his own body, Christian's, Walt's, Echo's brother's, and a few others I believe (need to re-watch!). But since taking Locke's body he said he could ONLY appear as Locke. So regarding the use of the wheel I think it's something along the lines of MIB didn't have a true "substance" to use physical objects or something along those lines - he had to use other people as tools be deceiving them...or he was Smokey. But now he has a true physical form but the wheel has been destroyed (was it destroyed?). Or maybe when the island moved they don't have access to the wheel anymore?

Lots of insight about past and present. Also admitting that the Jack/tattoo/kite episode was a mistake and dumb.
