What do you think is going on at this show? Why is it that everybody screams hype about this, and not about Bemon turd monsters that are going for $700? That's some bullshit hype, IMHO.

Shigeru wanted to do something cool for the show - he really loved the artwork and was excited that there was gonna be a show with the originals. He did a bitchin' one-off so he could participate.

I love how some idiots think this is all some big money-making scam - I still have yet to make a single red cent off this entire project - in fact, I'm down the several hundred dollars I spent to frame the original art! The art is for sale, but I doubt any of the whiny bitches on this board will fork over the bread - after all, it isn't nearly as valuable as a vinyl lump of blobby shit with a smokestack coming out of its head.

Only a fool would think much money is made by anyone making such small run toys... you don't pay japanese rent putting out ten figs every couple of months ! its the unatainable joe-coolism that irks people. And thats no reason to be dissin' the Bemon.

For what it's worth, LORD BEMON earned a return on his investment. That wasn't just a ritual sacrifice ... it was a custom. And it sold.

Some friends and I got chased away from that grill by the park cops for using it as and industrial music percussion instrument many years back. It was so good to see His Lordship us it for rude ritual purposes later on.

Bemon guy and his representatives don't really hype the toy on SB. Some collectors do, others don't. Closest thing was probably Frank Kozik saying Honda san hated all US citizens so people here shouldn't collect Bemons.

Rumor has it Honda san refused to sell Kozik a Bemon during a Japanese visit because Honda san disliked Kozik personally as opposed to all Americans. Bemon guy did write that he had no general animosity toward US citizens (in response to a letter from Khanate).

This left open the possibility that Bemon guy just had contempt for Kozik personally which earned the Bemon lots of hype points and bumped them up to $700 at auction.
