I didn't take the time to take a photo. Michael, if you get the chance will you give a photo update when you're done?

Thanks for reminding me Nat--with all of the snail pace of both books, pictures seem to be neglected. I'd like to get the blog updated, and to avoid more lagging, it will be cool if you update the blog directly.

I've posted the access info before, but here it is once more:
The link to the blog is in my signature; user name: puffy. pink @ yahoo. com pass: dignin!! You can update with a post, maybe a note or two, and. If you have a website or Flickr or some photo page, add yourself to the Nerds section on the sidebar.

Shpanks!! :-)

You guys are still at this? Such determination! I'll go look at the updates; is it still part of your plan to show the books at S7 when complete? 'Twould make a great show!

Ive scrolled past this thread so many times and never really thought about looking at it because I didn't know what moleskine was.
Very cool idea. I used to do something similar to this with friends at school. If another book gets started I'd love to be on that list.

Post Re: The SB Moleskine Project--SEE LAST ENTRY FOR DETAILS!!
Hi everyone,

First, just checking to see where we are in the contributor list. For Book 1, the last I have record is Joe--who is then to pass it on to kontact; then on to Rich. Book 2 was last with CannibalKaiju--who was in process of sending it to plover; who will then pass along to PaulKaiju. Please let me know if anything has changed.

Second, I know new Boardies are always askin about joining onto the project. Truth is, I do not want to make this seem like something only I can organize. If you want to do it, go right ahead! As you can see--if u read through the pages of posts--two books have been hard enough to track (can you believe it's been a year??!!) While I planned to have a 3rd book running, it didn't make sense if we couldn't manage the two in process. So, I'm going to just stick with these two until each is respectively 75% complete.

Thanks and peace,
FM

Post Re: The SB Moleskine Project--SEE LAST ENTRY FOR DETAILS!!
Hey Peeps,

Well, I guess this is the bi-monthly "fire-under-the-ass" reminder/plea. I admit, I don't have negative commentary on any one person, because I am not sure where the Moleys are right now. But I will say, just remember, if this were a toy you'd bought or traded, you'd be up in arms wondering.

Here are some things folks should remember:
1) Moleskines are not free, they were bought;
2) The contributors, up to this point, put their own creative time into something they believed in (as well as their own money to ship to the next person); and,
3) One month, being the given time to make an entry and mail to the next, is a LONG time...honestly, there are few excuses.

4) Board member T.J. was nice enough to offer honcho'ing the 3rd Book. He'll post some details soon. Please, before you commit, think as to whether you really want to do it. As the VHS-era video stores used to say, "Be kind. Rewind." Okay, I don't know what that has to do with this, but remember it anyway.

Post Re: The SB Moleskine Project--SEE LAST ENTRY FOR DETAILS!!
So after finally getting around to reading this thread, i think it is an awesome idea. I'd hate to see this project fail over a few slow people. So I would like to take some of the burden off of Future_Man and start up the third book myself.
Here is the deal. The time line will be a strick one month from date a reciept. As said before this is a very generous amount of time to contribute to the book. There is 30 pages(60 total section with front and back) to each of these books, so keep that in mind when contributing. I think we will keep each book at 15 people, gives everyone a good deal of space to work with. Any medium is good, just keep in mind the book needs to shut.

Previously there was some interest in making the next book a theme book. I believe "Eye Monsters" was voted on. Also previously the members below were interested. If you are still interested PM with "yes i am interested" and your address so i can keep track of the books. I am ordering a few books tonight and will ship one out to the first person on the list who confirms interest as soon as i get it. Finally please really think about this hard before you commit. The month limit is important to keep these books flowing and let everyone have a chance. If this one works smoothly i'll get more going until everyone who wants a chance gets one.

Here is the list so far for book three, please confirm if you are interested. Keep in mind the members on this list will get first dibs on spots(i will give these guys a few weeks to reply), and once we get 15 confirms I will keep everyone elses name for future books. Confirms are in red.

Thanks, Future_Man
One more piece of info for everyone. The plan is to still get the book to S7 I am not trying to keep this thing, and will most likely never see it again in person once i ship the blank book out.

I want in. I've been doing sketches in my own moleskine lately and think I could give it a shot. If there is an opening in any book or whatever, let me know. I'm a college student so I have TONS of free time with a post office a block away. 8)

I'm going to give up my spot on the 3rd book. It's a great project, and I had a lot of fun doing my bit in the 2nd book, but the length of time between book updates has killed completely killed my enthusiasm.

Replies are starting to trickle in, and some new people have shown interest. So here is the updated list on confirmed participants. Remeber the Sept 26 is the last day to reserve your spot if you were on the old list for book three.

bd6969, g&f, and i are in chicago, so if you can list us adjacent to one another the hand offs will go a lot faster. it'll be easier to hold each other accountable, too :)

Except G&F is moving to Portland...
And I'll be SHOCKED if this book goes deeper than 6 people. I think I was #3 or 4 on one of the books, and I believe it's gone dormant after I sent it out.

The eternal optomist that I am, I will continue to push this along. I do agree with @mondocoyote though, if I were a participant, my dismay might take over due to the huge lag time. I hope the 3rd book shows better compliance. Honestly, look at my posts in the past month--two courteous requests--and do you know, I've heard nothing. :?

oh that's right, g&f is going to get his car fixed, so his plan is still on!

maybe we can keep this book to 5-6 people, then? any more than that, people lose interest and/or any sense of responsibility. how about three rounds of five people? at the end of each round, the book gets sent back to t.j., at which point he can gauge the interest of the next round of people... i don't know. now i'm just babbling.

edit: incorrectly referred to future_man instead of t.j. sorry!

Once they 26th rolls around and i get enough confirms I'm going to arrange the order by locale to help speed up the process.
