I think if I saw anything new that I liked I would probably post more often in this thread.

Doubtful that would happen at this point.

I don't think he thinks that people still like the sculpt.

LOFL

I just keep quiet on this thread, but still picking up RxH and filling some collections holes on earlier stuff I missed out on.

That first one looks like someone sprayed adhesive on it and then dropped it into a kindergarten craft supplies closet.

Jury's out on that one? I love that Chaos. One of the best recently IMHO.

I picked up one of those Chaos at Mandarake the other week. Looks real nice in person.

I think there are plenty of folks still into RxH. Can't judge a line's popularity on post counts on a message board.

RxH is post-hype. Doesn't mean it's posthumous.

Agreed. I thought "maybe it has a little TOO much going on." Nothing against complexity, it's just not "working" for me. The one in Andy's second photo has a bit of that older RxH "ugly but ... maybe not" thing going on. I like that one a lot more.

Every time I start losing faith in RxH, I see something that restores it, but the glut is what keeps making me look elsewhere. I know Mori has to do what he has to do, but for me the issue is that there are just way too many releases for anything to seem "special" any more. Remember when each new Chaos was like a revelation that made the sculpt's story seem a little more mysterious? Remember how little details like the bit of pink on the Fungus Chaos seemed so Zen and thoughtful? Lately too much looks either slap-dash or like mindless minor permutations with no particular connotations. The gems are few and far between. I honestly think it has to do with overproduction. Yes, I know I'm speaking from an observer's perspective, and not a businessperson's. I know. :-)

That's exactly what it is, which may be the reason for my neutrality. As most regulars know, I'm all about production toys, and even though this guy was produced as a limited run, it still feels very much like a custom job (even down to the sig on the foot).

I'm sure it will end up in the cabinet just because I dig diversity but it didn't get me as stoked as the total Blobpus clusterfuck . . . I could imagine if Indian Larry had collaborated with RxH, that would be the result!

I was actually super pumped for the Blobpus release when it was announced, but very let down when the finished figure pics came out. I think the super cool glittery vinyl needs subdued paint to make it kill. I was very much looking forward especially after seeint the Yamomark collabos as well.

There have been some great new additions to the RxH family, and some that have been an acquired taste. I disagree that the rub finish is a "lazy" paint design, especially considering that now we are seeing rub + sprays as of late... Rub or not, I am digging the new Akro.

The 'new Akro' seems to be an in store release. Someone I kinda know has an 'agent' in Japan that sends stuff to the US when requested but would unfortunately cost more than double with mailing and agent fee. I wish I knew someone cool in Tokyo. It sure would be cool if a few collectors could buy certain Japan release pieces as a group.

It is shown on the website, so I do not think it is in-store only.

Mori has quite a few "in-store" - I wouldn't be surprised if LL has some in the near future.
Luke is the closest thing I know to "someone cool in Tokyo"

Not into the Akro but it's good to see it back. That meaty Chaos is gross IMO. I love the glitter though, totally kindergarden, but I'm into that.

This Chaos needed a nice Vcolor gloss spray to finish it off, and it would slay

Maybe it's the matte that I'm not into, you may be right.

I like the other weird stuff AAA has on the site though, really cool!
