I have the Mook and didn't understand either, but only because it never occurred to me until now. A punk reference makes sense, and explains why it went over my head. Consider me schooled.

Actually we have read the Mook numerous times, its hard to catch everything, thats part of the reason we have forums.

If you read the mook..then you'd know about the logo and rhnd. That's what weird.

Yea, the Mook being a 2007 release confused us because the reference for the Oni-head is going back to 2003 and the Mook does not show the reverse of the Oni-head with full slogan spelled out, the Oni's you guys just bought had these slogans spelled out in full on the back, something we never saw before and certainly not in the Mook, sometimes the human 'skullbrain' just registers definitions symbols and meanings differently when absorbing information. Thanks for the clarification guys.

 Re: New RxH . . .
I can see how you would not realize there was a slogan in the back from the mook pictures.
That said, what did you think "RHND" meant?

That said, what did you think "RHND" meant? I thought my last post was sufficient, obviously I (and some other folks) were not paying attention to Oni-heads. I guess this warrants the usual skullbrain spanking ritual that goes on around here. I am actually quite amused and have actually learned to appreciate you blokes, you are all very unique but don't you guys have something better to do than to kvetch? This is a 'toy' trip not an end of the world scenario. Edit: My response here is more a response to some other members of the fraternal order of skullbrain that came before akum6n's question.

 Re: New RxH . . .
No, I don't really understand your logic.
Anyway, I just picked up my Oni numero uno and like it quite a bit. The paint issues NJ mentioned above aren't that apparent. You must have better eyes than I do. I imagine the paint masks must have been quite complex, so it seems a shame that Mori has not made more of these. I think I could do with another one...

Actually my response was more for gatchabert and particularly atease. I just felt that I was being raked over the coals for a silly oversight and responded to the collective. To answer your question: I never put the slogan together with the acronym "RHND" ...on Skullbrain ignorance is not bliss.

I'd imagine stumbling into stuff like that on the net is pretty unlikely. I did pay significantly less on Mandarake than the same figure on Knunt. There are only 6 Onis in the Mook. These 4, ME-01 and then the version like 1 with the maroon skin. I just ordered the 1 on the far left yesterday from Mandarake. This is Mutons pic that actually popped up when I googled Oni. Posted back in 2006 on here in an RxH collection thread that's buried somewhere. Any way folks, you lucky bastards! I passed on them on Mandarake cause I foolishly thought they were repros....congratulations!

 Re: New RxH . . .
I was assured by another RealxHead fiend on here that they never re-released any of the Oni's. He actually tipped me off about the sale and I appreciate it. I guess maybe I only noticed the printing and the paint because as soon as I picked it up I put a big finger print on his shirt. It seems like the matte finish plus the heat of the delivery truck made it perfect for the black matte of his pants to rub off on my finger and transplant onto his shirt. Ended up getting it all off with a Magic Eraser and meticulously placed him back in his bag til I got home.
Getting my MO-05 soon and am looking forward to checking him out. The paint looks really great in the pics.

 Re: New RxH . . .
the Onis T-shirt designs were actually were silkscreened. Mori used to give his crew some of the test shots and NG versions that weren't good enuff to sell. By now I think most people have realized that one of the original members of his crew sold his entire collection. Thats where Mandarake got that huge lot of all them OG mutants that they are still selling piecemeal to this day.

Those are mini Oni-gawaras - about the size of an FCB These are traditional decorative tiles that are at the corners of Temple roofs.
