How was Jayrinco? It was closed the day I went out there. I thought they might be moving. Upstairs right?

Jyarinco was a GREAT shop, located in Machiya, as noted.. Its down one of the larger alleys (lots of those in Tokyo), and up a small flight of stairs.

I got to go with Baikin and Datadub....so it was even more fun.

Oh, we found it. Unfortunately we only have a picture in front of a damn closed shop!

I'm not bitter, though...

I was staying in Machiya, so it was my local shop. Problem was, every time I went there it was closed. Eventually I gave up thinking that it may go the way of other shops. Then on a Friday night I swung by to check and it was open. Owner had gotten a really bad bout of the flu and had closed up for about 5 days.

With only 4 days left in Tokyo and most of my money spent, I dropped by just about every day, hung out for a few hours in the evenings and dug through stock. Owner knows literally no English but was always really friendly and helpful. Got him to sign my Tokyo Underground book he and was nice enough to let me take photos of the shop. (Most shops don’t like you taking photos. Small indy shops are usually cool with it though, but best to ask)

Highly recommend a trip to this cool shop. Little out of the way, but well worth it, great prices and lots of stock. They also sell new stuff. Directions are in TU book but if anyone gets stuck, just PM me and I can give more in depth directions and train info.

Nakano Broadway is my favorite place on earth :D

Hi everyone, first post and all that. Nakano Broadway is the dogs nuts. My wife are just back from Tokyo, and Nakano really does have it all. We were using the Tokyo Underground book, which was a big help. But we found a few places seemd to have closed down since the book had come out. Still got loads of cool stuff though . All i can say is, if you ain't been and your into Kaiji, beg, borrow or steal to get a plane ticket. It's so worth it. Plus Japan is a fantatic country as well. They are the most polite people i've ever met.........but then i do come from London

As I noted in the other thread, please notify Brian and JoshB about these closings for the second edition of the book.

Yup, the Mirrorman vinyls kick ass...but the eleking ride-on is just disturbing!

I know it's a bit over-priced, but I'd rather see a close-up of the Arklon Black King! That box just looks in gorgeous condition...

I was thinking the price on the Black King isn't *too* bad, especially considering its the rare color variant. Its certainly more than I would pay for it, but I've seen them in that range and higher. (I sold a similar one to a fellow TBDXer a few years back, but I don't recall the final price - I think it was under $200, but the box was likely no where near perfect)

Actually, I don't think that's the rare one. I'm pretty sure it's the red-neck version...which is way more common. If it were the blue-neck version, the price would actually be pretty damn good!

Its kind of a combination of the two shown in the TBDX datafiles. Yes it has a red neck, but the waist with the dial is blue. The one I sold also had a mix, though I can't recall the exact configuration. I'll have to go back and check photos later. Based on my experiences, I think they started to mix and match later on with the production of these, resulting in all sorts of variants.

What the fuck!?

You're totally right. Bizarre: he's got the rare blue belly piece and blue shoulder/red foream arms...but NOT the blue neck that's supposed to go with that variant--the most distinctive part! Bah!
