Re: Got paranoia?
Joel/Greg. I just opened my raw power Nag. What's the little sticker inside the header? I can't really make it out, some kind of pattern? Character? Judging by the subtle paints, I'd have to say S is a makeup artist of some kind...maybe he works at the MAC station in Macy's Tokyo...

apparently eBay Buyer Protection doesn't protect you from overspending on a toy.

Too bad half those bids were from a bidder with a big 0 on their buying, that only seemed to be boosting the price over and over.
Awwww, I'm such a buzz kill.

Dubious bidding from a zero feedback bidder made it go from a $433 auction to $1375. Maybe he's a Goldman Sachs/Proctologist. Bit surprised people are this gullible. People are supposed to be outraged over this flip now (step 5 in hype plan); but this one is maybe too transparent.

Re: Got paranoia?
I should of prefaced my posting saying I have no clue who sold this. Only 5 people won this figure at the lottery in our store so I have a slight idea. I noticed the possible shill bidder as well, but I thought maybe it was someone who didnt have an ebay handle but created one to win this? Maybe someone foreign...I dunno. Either way it went for a crazy amount and the person who won it has mega feedback so they obviously are going to pay for it.

To me it's crazy and beyond absurd to spend that much on a new toy but if I had any hand in it (header art or whatever) I would be bummed out. You seem to be really passionate about it this toy and really believe in it... but I would be a little bummed that people feel the need to shill bid and raise the bar for no reason. Seeing the auction doesn't make me excited that people bid crazy but it rather disappoints me that it went this far. There are 16 year olds and 30 year olds excited about a toy and to see it go this extreme is odd. This goes for any toy...rose vampire, anraku, bemon etc. Don't get me wrong, I have a few versions even the mishka version that I was able to get at retail but I couldn't imagine fake flipping them to get profit.

Well why not shill up a few at insane prices and then the tiny runs are profitable? Could be a very good reason for shilling Riverdancer isn't a shill; very possibly severely braindamaged but he/she (the winner) overspends always. That was a real sale but looks like it had an artificially inflated end price.

Re: Got paranoia?
I was wondering the same thing. Why keep drawing attention to these crazy auction prices?

Re: Got paranoia?
My thought on it...
I guess I am posting them because I am little shocked and I just wanted to hear other peoples reactions.
I mean I have been buying and selling on eBay since 1998. The thing that I love about eBay is that its an auction! I mean regardless what is goes for its what people are willing to pay for it, no one is forcing them to bid that much.
Now in regards to this auction there might be a shill bidder, might not be, who knows. Like I said I have bought and SOLD on ebay for year, and I have sold auctions and received payment RIGHT AWAY from people with (0) feedback and its been for high priced items as well. Surprisingly enough there are many people who do not have ebay accounts, especially foreign bidders, so I wouldn't be so sure it was a shill bid. Either way the winner obviously had put his top price pretty high.
I dont really have a feeling either way on toy flippers, or people who buy things at a lower price to resell them at a higher price. Am I suprised this figure has a higher resell value NO, but I mean that is because there are only 10 of them and there A LOT more people that want them. Thats like Economics 101, supply and demand.
I still want the Paul Kaiju NNN, would I pay $1000, no, would I pay $500, yea. The retail was like $100, but I would pay 5x more cause I really want the figure and there would be no other way for me to get it.
Thats the great thing about ebay though, I bet if someone else put up their Raw Power version tommorow, it wouldnt go anywhere close to what this one sold for, I can almost gurantee it. This auction went WAY beyond what I imagined it would go for but I have seen crazier things.
Also, I feel the same way about this toy from the first post on this thread, I always thought it was rad looking and I always wanted one. I would want one if there were 10 made, 100 made or 1000 made, I just really like the toy.
