thanks for the kind words everyone, i really appreciate it. darky was right, he was a golden retriever but cream in colour. i'm not an emotional person but i took it very hard. it still hasn't sunk in that he's gone. i do plan to get another dog but i don't think it will be for some time

some really great pictures posted, look after them! they are always there to make you smile no matter how shitty life becomes. :)

who usually wears the 'pants in the relationship' out of the cat and dog when you have both living together?

Sorry to hear about your loss.

My dog was just diagnosed with cancer. We started chemotherapy last week. Hopefully it will do wonders.

Painful day. I just put down my dog after a long battle. Its amazing to think how strong feelings we have for our pets. He was truly one of our family, and I feel such pain right now its hard to breath. I just remembered this thread and wanted to post.

I'm so sorry. Occasionally I think about how I'm going to outlive my dog and it makes me so unbelievably sad - but I'm sure it's only a shadow of how you actually feel. But all those happy time have to make it worth the sorrow you feel now, right?
My condolences... :(

T____T

This thread is kind of hard to look at as I see pics of my little brat when she was still with us. She lived to be 23 days shy of 16 years.

The pet cementary we had her cremated offered a complimentary viewing prior to the cremation which we opted for. I know it sounds odd, all this for a dog, but it really helped my family to mourn her properly and say our goodbyes.

we'll have a dog again, just not right now but this experience of loss made us stronger to deal with this especially if you have other pets and the inevitable will occur.

Seriously, just reading this makes me tear up a little. I know it's part of pet ownership, but it breaks my heart to think of our dog passing away eventually.
