Post Poll: Pick Your Favorite Type Of Kaiju
I thought it would be interesting to see what people's favorite types of "kaiju" are. I have created some artificial categories of different types of kaiju. Hopefully, the categories make some kind of sense - I have given a few examples of what I had in mind for each one. There is, of course, some overlap between the categories (e.g., Gargamel makes both Fight and Non-fight figures) - just do your best to pick from the options provided.

Let the voting begin!

you forgot to list my most faovritest type of kaiju of all:

"the one I just

a) won on (name of your favorite online auction house, here)

or

b) bought from (name of your favorite dealer here)

but which I've yet to get my hot little mitts upon"

I voted for "neo-kaiju fight figures" because I own the most of those. I also like a few random monster figures, but the newer sculpts are the ones that appeal to me most. The vintage stuff doesn't do much for me.

I love them all, but I have to go with the traditional kaiju first, and just like LASH said, the Bemon figures are growing on me as well.

i went with traditional kaiju, cause i started ollecting urban vinyl, and was usually too poor to buy the big figures, so i stumbled upon this forum and found some sweet retro repros of ultraman villains and stuff, and they were big and quirky. i love me some oldschool monsters. and theyre always so crazy.

I voted for neo-kaiju fight figures because I have more of those than any other (they were my entry drugs) but I am having a love affair with Hedorah right now.

I voted Neo-patch.

But it really depends on the quality, color and combinations of different materials, goofyness, and retro-ness.

I love fight figs, the SDCC Obake dog has to be the most amazing thing to me as of late.

I like everything, but I only collect character based stuff. For me that's what collecting toys is all about, reconnecting with my favorite characters from my childhood.

A few months ago I would have said fight figures, but the Neo Kaiju non-fight stuff has been blowing my mind for awhile now. Damnedrons, Bemons, Gogamezilla, the Giger inspired Deathquids and Andromeda, and these crazy things that look like oranges (or Pac Men)

They are so awesome!

I still love the fight figures and traditional Kaiju toys, but I'm mostly into this stuff right now.

I was so torn - Henshin Cyborgs are my thing, but after building my collection to a certain point, I had to go with fight figures as my current love. Very hard to decide between the two.

I'm in with just about everybody here. I have more neo-kaiju figures than anything else but I love my Bemon. And I would probably be buying more non-kaiju if SB, Gargamel and RxH weren't producing so much lately...

I'm with Muton, though I chose Henshin in the end as I love the suit thing and playing dollies but with skulls and blood splatter. I also lump in Medicom RAH figures in that lot too.
But at the end of the day, I like a little vintage, and little neo fight and a little henshin based gear all mushed in together. The one group I haven't really got into is the neo non fight stuff.
