I don't know if this is the allotment available for at Con registration or this is it for 4 Day + Preview Night for next year. We have heard rumors that they were capping it at 15,000 for Preview Night.

I don't wish to be the bearer of bad news but I am hoping this is just the at Con allotment and it will still be available when tickets go on sale in August.

I was thinking about the possibility of 4 day w/ preview night selling out before it goes online. I guess we'll find out soon.

I'm sure some more will be available, but this will only drive up the Hype (even more)

I'm still kicking myself for not getting a pass during the con this year.

I was in a panel held by the Con organizers when someone told them the Preview Night admissions were sold out. Judging by their response, I wouldn't get your hopes too high that more tickets will be made available online. They are really committed to crowd control on the floor, so it wouldnt surprise me if they decreased the number of Preview Night tickets. Thats just my opinion though, maybe someone else has more concrete information.

I just don't get the whole crowd control theory. So they want to limit the number of people that have four day passes on preview night but all of them PLUS the one day ticket holders can crowd in on the other days?

That's just absurd.

What's probably worse is that it's no doubt mostly people who don't care about comics as much as the other junk. A "Glee" panel? WTF?! I know it's marketed as "Pop Culture" now but "Glee" is just too far removed. It's getting sick.

In regards to the crowd control...on any other day, a good amount of attendees will be in panels...say 10-20%, plus some dispersal over the course of the day. Preview Night being only 3 hours pretty much guarantees everyone who has a ticket will be there standing in line for exclusive toys or punching babies to get a free bag.

I am seriously disappointed in their inability to save even a small amount of preview night memberships for online sales. Way to kick everyone who couldn't make it this year in the nuts! I wouldn't care but some great stuff got released on preview night this year and if you are flying all the way across the country to get to an event you should at least have a chance at going to the whole event. /end rant. For those speculating there are more 4 day with preview's left, they have said they are ALL gone, 15,000 to be exact.

CCI staff was pretty sure that they were going to sell out after finding out the number of tickets sold on Wednesday night alone (2100-2200). That being the case, I'm really surprised that they didn't reserve any tickets for on-line sales. It's what they always do. There must have been break in the communication somewhere.

Preview Night insanity still amazes me. I remember when no one went to it. Booths practically begged you to pick up swag and three quarters of the vendors hadn't finished setting up.

I don't know why they are kidding themselves with a preview night anyway, just start it on wednesday morning. Let's a get a full 5 days in.

please keep this idea to yourself. I can only speak for myself, but 4 days plus preview night is plenty.

people working SDCC do everything short of bloodletting, and sometimes they do that as well...I've seen it.

ahhh the good old days. that was back when they still had comic books at comic con.....

A lot of booths barely get the set-up finished in time for the Preview Night Crowds as it is. I was at the con from around noon on Wednesday and it's amazing the transformation that happens from that time to opening. You'd never believe some of the places were going to make it in time.

If they were to make Wednesday a full day then they'd have to make all day Monday and all day Tuesday available for set-up, which starts to get even rougher on folks that are taking days off and leaving behind their brick and mortar businesses to be at the con as it is. As it is SDCC is already the longest convention of it's kind, and in my opinion, it doesn't need to be any longer.

Looks like I may miss next year too.

Well crap on a stick. I'm hoping I can renew my Pro status without any hassles, then. I haven't been in years, so some friends and I are making it a point to make it next year. I think they should just move some of the Hollywood crap to some of the other hotels in the area that aren't using their ballrooms. That will free up a lot of room for people that really care about the comics.
