Post Mecha toys
Does anyone collect mecha vinyl like Gundam or Macross?

Personally i've only bought one mecha piece (gundam wing) but it was one I had to put together which wasn't great. Much prefer one ready made.

Mecha toys are what got me into this hobby, and the last couple of years I've added a few mecha vinyls to my collection.

If you're looking for suggestions, the results from Toybox DX's Toy of the Year contest for 2005 are going to pop up any day now.

Hello Parka,

May I suggest 1/16 Maschinen Krieger toys by Max Factory. Good size: 8 inches tall, well made (soft vinyl, but strong & thick), and the design is quite unique & realistic.

Sorry for the low quality pics. My camera is a sucky 3.2 meg.

Those pics look better than 90% that you see on boards or ebay!

Keep it up and be as good or better than Brisko!

Thanks for the warm welcome, Parka. Very forum you guys have here. I see several cool folks from TBDX, so it's a good sign. :D

7Thank you r7. Tim is an awesome photographer, love his work. To be mentioned in the same sentence with the man is a huge compliment.

I've got a whole case of SF3D kits in storage and a built up Krote somewhere.
I was nuts about those!
I sold off most all of my plastic Totatoku 80's stuff.

I do still have some Gundam mini diecasts by Clover and my Walker Galliar stuff.

I had several SAFS kits, and a bunch of ARII's Southern Cross kits (remember those?). Unfortuately, my modeling skill is well below my enthusiasm for the series. Needless to say, they came out pretty shitty.

I knew someone other than me brought up Macross toys a while back. Parka, Super7 #14 is going to have a Macross article written by yours truly. In case none of the vinyls make it into the pics, check these out:

I have a very unhealthy collection of gundam kits, so many that i've drag masses of them to the office, as for toys, any resonable priced Mazinga Z, Gettarobo, Raideen, giant gorg, and Ideon toys, i'll pick up, though i'm about to start up on Votoms, held off as musch as possible. And machine Kriegers rock, i loved the little Yellow Submarine ones, i wish they made more.
I'm loving the viynl macross figs!

The vinyl Macross figures are easy to get. In fact, if you're around SF, Kimono has a few of them.

As for VOTOMS, we're in a renaissance phase now. There are even garage operations making VOTOMS vinyl figures. Check these links out:

Kimono is Kimono my house? I'll be in SF this sat, and that would make a nice side trip, haven't been there, seen them at conventions. And the Votoms, ohhh going to be eating ramen very soon...

Yes, I meant Kimono My House. Definitely make it a point to stop there.

The VOTOMS vinyls are tough to get. The guy makes about 100 figures every year. I have one person who's usually there at WonderFest to get me one, and that doesn't always work out.
