Here are some of my pics from the opening. http://www.flickr.com/photos/sonicnoise/I'll be going back this Saturday sometime before the Toxic Catalyst show to make more pics of the artwork. Anyone coming to town for the show at Super7 should definately try to stop by White Walls and see this stuff in person. The D.M. Cook stufff upstairs is really great as well and so is the Ferris Plock show right next door.

Wow, thats not a bad price on those masks considering how much work it looks like went into them. I never knew growing up I needed to be rich so I could blow it all on toys lol. Damn guidance counselor, they had motivation all wrong.

Quote: so you made the original custom masks? sweet (you sculpt them too?) Yeah, Skinner gave me some sketches and I sculpted and formed the masks. I've started a blog page (hasn't everyone?) about making these and other masks. Please check it out here: http://plasticmasks.blogspot.comOsirisOrion wrote: anybody shoot any video for the show? I'm putting something together, but will be gone through the weekend (Toxic Catalyst anyone?). I hope to finish it up on Tuesday and I'll post a link here.

After seeing prices, I am amazed at how affordable Skinners work is. I can easily see higher prices being justified on many of them. Wish I could score one while his work is in this range. Alas, I don't believe that affording original art is in the cards for me. So many pieces I lust after in this show!

I managed to score a Post-it he did for the annual Giant Robot show, but it's really just a monster portrait and not anything close to one of his epic scenes. I'd count myself very lucky to be able to afford just a one of his paintings.

I'd spoken to someone from the gallery on the phone a few nights prior. I could have sworn they said something about sculpted figures. Probably just a pipe dream.

Slack wrote: weren't there supposed to be some sculpted figures of some sort at the show? did they ever make it? Skinner was working on some some large sculpted figures for the show but there was an issue with molding and casting that kept them from making it in time for the show. They should be done soon if they aren't ready by now. The pics of the sculpt that I saw look great and I think you guys will really dig what he is doing. Keep an eye out for these. As for the toy blog mention of sculpted figures, I was hoping to sculpt some small-ish figures from Skinners paintings that we talked about casting in resin. I was hoping to have something ready just for display and for feedback to see if anyone would be interested in a resin statue of the sculpts. I ran out of time to work on this before the show...
