Re: Dustin's Ultra-Thread: Custom Micro Zagoran: 8/2
I don't know where my micro zag is. I'm glad Kiyoka gave it to me but it's so tiny that it's driving my crazy just looking for it.

Painted is the way to go on these, that little guy looks great. It pulls out the details really well.

Re: Dustin's Ultra-Thread: Custom Micro Zagoran: 8/2
A few days ago, I started working on this Pocket Deathra and I've been taking crappy iPhone pics every step of the way. I do this a lot when I'm painting and I find it helps me keep things on track. This Deathra started out as one of the clear-green dudes from the three-pack. First, I sprayed him with blue and an orange-yellow. In my opinion, the yellow over the green really punched-up the color. Then, I brushed on the details with a bony white color. Claws, fangs... Brushed in a base of silver for the eye. Finished up the eye and filled in the nostrils. After that, I decided to start applying some spots to break things up a bit and give him some personality. This guy is still a WIP. I still need to get the dots to a place where I'm happy with them (apply some on his head) and apply a clear coat. Then, I'll take some decent pictures.

That pocket deathra is looking awesome. Really liking the dot patterns, it might look cool if they crawled up the back of it's neck and onto the top of it's head or horns. I keep wanting to see more customs from you, they're looking really good.

Added some spots to the top of his head to bring the whole thing together. Took him up on the roof for some pics. Another gloomy August day in San Francisco...

You've seriously done a great job on this guy Dustin. As I mentioned to Dustin, this little guy has my vote for sculpt of the year. So much character. EVOM wrote: I think he snagged it already, atleast the yellow one. Yes, I was able to acquire both the unpainted yellow and milky white S-Taiin. I'm looking to pick up two more of the milky white version for commission requests.

Re: Dustin's Ultra-Thread: Custom Pocket S-Taiin: 8/18
I like the way the texture on this guy is both organic and geometric at the same time and I wanted to go with a paint app that would bring that out. This guy started out clear, I dyed him blue, then brushed up through various blues and added in some silver and white details. Gave him some teeny blue eyes to keep the whole "cold" theme going. Hope you like it, thanks for looking.

Still working on small stuff... This Pocket Zagoran is another take on the "spotted cyclopean" one I did a while back.

This might be your best color combo yet. Love the warm, lava, feel this guy gives off.
