Let's see, only...104 more to go for a complete set, according to this checklist! (Plus the vehicles...) That updated Mini-Mates version is...questionable. Kind of neat that the line is getting some attention, but I'm not sure I would have even recognized that as a "Battle Beast" if it wasn't labeled as such. Here is a much better checklist/guide that I built w/ the owner of this site. 90% of the toys in the photos were from my collection. http://www.beastformers.com/checklist.cfmhttp://www.littlerubberguys.comDamn, that's an impressive checklist! This is great, I never knew there were so many slight color variations or that there were some insanely cool unpainted and clear figures. Excuse me while I browse through every single entry on this list... (What in the world, super deformed vending machine Battle Beasts?!)

 Re: Non- Vinyl American toys
I pick up a lot of different stuff. Personally I think there's a ton of good toy design being done here in the US. Hasbro pretty much dominates every corner of the market. The Transformers Animated series is actually really pretty cool. The line has formally ended but I see a few here and there. I picked up the motorcycle/chopper, it's got a lot of hollow parts, but the movement and posability is sort of remarkable. The new Star Wars 'Empire Strikes Back' saga line is white hot. If I had to pick a few from wave 1 my favs are: C-390 (faceplate and panels come off to reveal really tiny detailed substructure, crazy), Dengar (who got a total facelift), IG-88 (robots carrying knives. yay), and finally Hoth Han & Leia look like they might make out over by the taun taun stable. New GI Joe is out. Post-movie from last summer, which saw a shitstorm of new movie related figures, they are striking out with totally different redesigns. Lots of detail, dry brush paint jobs, very tight. The vehicles can easily double in the ST Extended Universe imo. And if you slept on the new Halo figures, wake up. Seems like McFarlane is in the process of switching over to new designs for all those figures. But Oni Dare is outstanding, as are a couple of others. Finally US companies are catching up to the Japanese in terms of casting quality and detail.

I started a thread for it, but I prob should have just posted it here. Anyone buying 3W/Ashley Wood Robots? Do you like em?

I just can't open it, the crazy stupid packaging is too good. There's this other one I want that I think is meant to match.

 Re: Non- Vinyl American toys
So about 6-7 years ago I found the guy on the right in my old closet at my moms house. This whole time I figured it was a My Pet Monster character, but now I'm not so sure. There's no tag or MPM brand on it anywhere. The MPM on the right is just the 2001 re-release I found at a thrift store about 6 years ago which I'm using for size reference. The left one is also a puppet type thing. Does anyone know what it is or have any info on it? (laundry room gets the best lighting in my apt at night)

 Re: Non- Vinyl American toys
I really wish I scored that viking Lion O guy, it wasposted 3 times or so and I always past cause of low cash. Damn I need that one. I also hate when I see a crappy bootleg on eBay and the asking price is cool but then after shipping I'd consider it too much so I pass then never see it posted again even if no one bought it.

(laundry room gets the best lighting in my apt at night) Yeah the one on the left is from a second less popular line of MPM toys called "My Monster Pet". His name is Rark. There are 5 characters this size, the first 3 released are not too hard to find, with the next 2 released being much rarer.

Gygor drops on Matty this week: along with Chief Carnivus, who I also think is not too bad: Both of them are MOTU characters that have never been released in figure form before now.

If I were to sum up the 90s in one toy, it would be this:
