Hey, Anyone on this board collecting the hailstorm of robots and figures coming out of 3A based on Wood's paintings? I believe them to be fairly dope! I'm not in a hurry to buy up a bunch of them (I can hear it now "...3A was really good a year ago, now they are meh.") but would like to hear some feedback about their quality and if anyone here is into them.

I'm sorta into them, don't have many off them but there cool as fuck. I like the many points of articulation and the weapons are bananas.

Had a couple of the Berties and a Bramble but lost interest when the hype machine went in full gear. I just didn't want to be part of that crowd I guess..

I own a bunch of the robots. they are pretty cool. highly articulated, but sometimes can be a bit fragile if not careful. especially the 1:12 scale mechs. You cannot beat the cool factor of the large 1:6 scale mechs. they are huge. The beat up weathered colorways were getting repetitive and a bit boring, but they are trying to mix it up. I still have a bunch of toys yet to be delivered due to the way they take pre-orders. so by they time they show up (ie: Dirty Deeds 12 pack), some of the excitement has worn off.

but I am most excited about the 1:6 heavy brambles just ordered. the rocket launcher alone is 21 inches....! prompting "is that a rocket launcher in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?"

Sound like my kind of plan. I like the designs a lot, not so crazy about a bazillion colorways. And if the weapons are just bananas, doesn't make them much of like weapons. Is there another forum were ppl are selling them? What's up with ppl on ebay breaking up hottoys and the 3A toys into parts? Is that just to make customs or to make a completed model near impossible? (i guess yes to both) 3A is now everything and your mom. Wow. I'll wait to find a garbage can full of them. I'm heavy into robots though so I feel like I've been neglecting them.

i collect 3A. unfortunately my mom has no idea who or what 3A is about.

don't really care about the hype machine, i just buy what i like. and so far 3A has been putting out pretty neat stuff. their 1/6 bots are really something else, most are huge, and the paint application is always something to marvel at.

i'd recommend checking out the WWRp line if you're interested but unsure of the build and quality of the bots. they've managed to shrink down the 1/6 bots to a portable size and yet retain articulation, even for the fingers. unfortunately i think the majority of moms now have been buying up WWRp bots. so it might be pretty hard to pay retail for one.

The toys are getting better, but the process behind sales is no better than it was a year ago. 3A takes money and then it's anywhere from two to four months (six months now since I pre-ordered the WWRp Large Martins) before we see our toys. Sometimes even longer than that. This is my second year with a 3AA membership but I won't decide if I renew that or not until I see how the rest of the year turns out.

I can appreciate the technical nature of 3A's stuff and the paint finishes etc but it leaves me cold. I'm a big fan of Ashley's work but the toys to date lack something compared to the artwork.

The Bertie's and the Dropcloth robots are cool, but the human, zombie, and newer robots have more character. I think they are sharp interpretations of his artwork which is characteristically sort of vague & impressionistic. The details on those figures is beautiful, don't know about the quality though.

I can admire the workmanship they just do nothing for me, even as a fan of the source material. They obviously complement that artwork and stories I'm just failing to see why there's all the hype around them.

I'm just waiting for the United Planet colab. Those are the only 3A toys I need.

Speaking of I saw this shot on Kaiju Korner and it's making me worried I missed them. Hoping those are protos and not an actual release.

3A fig are totall cool, I so into it. The New Ankou are totally awesome and their are plans to have a 1/12th fig size.
