Hey Skullbrainers...
So I've finally done it and jumped into the resin game. I am proud to announce the creation of my first resin figure, Globulon. Globulon is a character I drew in a series of postal stickers I was putting up around NYC last summer. He's inspired by kaiju and saturday morning cartoons. He was sculpted by veteran sculptor and pre-internet sofubi collector, Marc Mascot and is going to be cast by Tony Titanium of Titanium Toys ( http://www.titaniumtoyz.blogspot.com ).

I'll be releasing Alpha Globulon at myplasticheart's table at NYCC (date and time pending). He stands 5" tall and will be cast in unpainted(of course) Royal Blue for the Alpha Release and will be limited to 25 pieces.



I'll post future releases in this thread too. I wanted to show you guys first before putting it up on the blogs and whatnot since this is the home of my worst addiction and my best enablers Let me know what you think eh?

totally reminds me of a schoolhouse rock character! i wish the sculpt was little cleaner to be closer to the cartoon-y look i imagine in my head, but this li'l guy and his buckteeth are awesome. congrats!

I must say I'm thinking clear deep purple outer with gloss or clear black inner and some light silver spray on the drip and teeth.

Cool concept, Abe! Since you're such a fan of unpainted vinyls, would you leave some of the resin Globulon unpainted as well?

I have the worst luck with resin which is why I don't buy them but, I can't wait for this guy.

Looks really great, can't wait to see some clear and painted versions. It'll be cool to see what some boardees do with him.

The 2nd release (release date tbd) will be unpainted as well but the 3rd will be a painted release.

a little closer to completion, first test is passed my 3 year old son played with the samples i got and named this guy Monster T... Here he is being welcomed by the blue sofubi welcoming committe.

This guy should be a member of the Monster Family!
