Ness-ko Kaiju and vintage cryptids...

This was a very cool unexpected find- a vinyl Loch Ness Monster tub-toy, complete with Mabuchi motor. They actually call it the "Ness-ko Kaiju," which I thought was kind of cute. It was bagged... but I had to remove the toy since it was rubbing against the cardboard backing card and the bag was beyond filthy.

I've honestly never seen the Loch Ness Monster with a horn and four legs. Neat tail design, too; very dynamic.

But the most fascinating part is, by far, the underside of the toy. It has the company name stamped on its belly- Onoya, which I've never heard of. Also, an attachment for the motor. When I first saw the holes on the bottom of each foot, I thought it might be a blow-molded polyethylene toy- but no obvious seam. It is also too heavy for a blow-molded toy. I believe the holes were most likely melted in- AFTER the vinyl was pulled from the mold- so that the toy could take on water and submerge the motor.
Anyway... another cryptid toy for the collection. Add this to the Nessie diving toy from a couple years ago.

So I want to see more cryptid, youkai and other UMA toys. What else is out there? Show me your Jinmenken keshis and Tsuchinoko watering cans!
