I got my MANDARAKE SHIBUYA - ORDER CONFIRMATION for Shikaruna Chiwosu (NAGOYA Sp Edition / molded clear blue) This was my first MANDARAKE order and if nothing goes wrong with shipping this guy to the Netherlands it wont be my last order;)

I hope someone knows more about this release. I don't even know if this guy is full-size or smaller... I know SP is handpaint. But i don't know if it was the work of Siccaluna or Killer J (MANDARAKE used KillerJ as a search tag) i don't know..

Not sure. Siccaluna often does one offs and SP's for event's. SP means Special Paint and usually implies a limited event item. These are limited runs just for the shows. For that event they had clear reds, greens, and pink I believe. It could be a run of the clear green or maybe a one off. Maybe someone else who has a Chiwos from the show could shed some more light...

That chiwos is a micro run from 2008 i believe.
The one you have is cast in clear blue vinyl and filled with green paint w/metallic pink highlights.

Weird, though...I wonder why they're going with the "angry eyes" berzerk T28 version before putting out the normal one...

Where would one go about buying these? I've never bought a Shikaruna toy.

Actually...weren't the "angry eyes" when the bad guys took him over and made him smash up the city? Then, he'd be working with Black Ox!

Didn't Shikaruna come out with three t-28's last year? So this is another sculpt altogether?

This is probably the very first S-K SP version ever made (well, one of two). When S-K debuted its first toy at Superfestival 42 (April 2007), purchasers of the yellow or black Gaezal were entered into a drawing for two one-off versions. The black SP below is "Type B" so I have to think there is a "Type A" one-off of the yellow version.

The paint work on both this SP and the normal black version is wonderfully restrained, although I'm sure many find it dull. The glossy black with touches of color has a sort of 'mature refinement' that I love.



Normal black first version:

I personally love the black version. The minimal paint really does show off the sculpt. So glad you finally have that SP one off in hand and we finally get to see nice pics of it. That auction just showed it bagged so you could never really see it. BTW, I know I've seen a pic of the other orange/green one off. I'm trying to find it now.

PS I think then the glow version we've both seen that is different must be a one off also (probably the same deal)

EDIT: Crap I happened upon the pic while searching for something using japanese characters and did not save it like an idiot. I saw it though. The body looked identical to the green/orange but the face was more brownish.

I love this sculpt. Really cool score on this SP version. Metallic green looks nice on black vinyl.

yes, definitely a great sculpt. the minimal colors on that version are very nice.
