Post Re: dog appreciation.
Lots of cute dogs posted here! OK, this is going to be pic heavy. Most are Chihuahuas and Pomeranians, though there have been others, including an English bulldog, an American bulldog mix (pictured below), Fox Terriers, etc. Most of these have already been adopted out. This first one (the first three pics) was a shaved-down Pomeranian, and I thought it was the funniest dog. Every time I saw it, I could not get the image of Rudolph or his girlfriend in the Xmas special out of my head. This puppy looks just like one of those animated deers (and no, I didn't keep him in that tiny kennel - he just sat there while his food was being prepared):

These others have already been adopted out (there were a lot more, but many were immediately transported to other homes, sometimes out of state, or to other foster homes, so no pix were taken):

These are a few I still have in my home awaiting adoption:

And this one, which looks like a bear. She was growling and snapping at us for the first few days, but she's finally letting us pet her (on occasion):

I've got a few more for adoption, plus my own dogs that are mine (two of which we adopted ourselves over the summer). So things have been hectic. Frequent runs to the shelter (about 1 hour away), meetings with foster parents and other groups, etc. Some of these we have now need some meds and vet visits, so we're hoping that we can raise some more money. Its tough, but worthwhile.

I've got to get pics of my own new pups up too.

Second to last picture. The black and white hairy chuhuahua has a very human awkward smile to his/her face. Makes me laugh!

We just brought home Dixie, a six-month-old Chihuahua/Toy Australian Shepherd mix. She's very mellow and calm, not at all what I expected from that particular mixture.

What an odd mix (Dixie), but she's a beautiful dog! Is her coloring gold/white?
And Sammie looks awesome! We've got a BT too, and she's also bonkers. From what I've found they're either timid or crazy.

I've yet to meet a dog that wasn't a bit over the crazy line. :D

Congrats on Sammie, he's adorable!

Today is P-Chan's first death anniversary. T_____T

I used to love October for Halloween but with a double whammy of her dying today and her birthday on the 23rd, October has lost quite a bit of it's charm for me.

I just want everyone to enjoy their fur kids as much as they can! One thing I do not have regrets on is that we did everything we could to save her, despite the financial cost, and the best years of her life was during her senior years.

Image

For now, no dog for our family this year but definitely we will have a canine companion again before SDCC 2011!

Congratulations on adding Sammie to your family! Bostons are all just a tad crazy, but it only adds to their great personality.

:) So cute. I bet he wasn't a big fan of playing shark. I tried putting a little doggy devil-horn headband thingy on my Boston and she just snorted and death-rolled until it flew off.

Quite a few Boston owners on this board!

Almost sixteen for a big dog is a great age for your Sammy. Lots of memories to remember him by. So sorry for your loss.

Guilty face pretzel thief!!
She stopped dead in her tracks when she saw me spying on her stealing pretzels from my nephews little table. I was hiding behind the island counter while she was being mischievous. Of course, she can do no wrong in my book, and always gets away scott free anyways. Haha.

I love how expressive Bostons faces are! Perhaps I'm guilty of anthropomorphizing, but I see my dog use a lot of facial expressions to express emotion or communicate.

they are crazy expressive and very intelligent... one of my friends [not a dog owner] gets pretty creeped out by it, it's always 'why is she looking at me like that? i haven't done anything to her'
