 dear S7 i kind of just got fired. are you hiring any qualified, talented art directors/designers?
here's where i would post a picture of me holding a sign that reads:
WILL WORK FOR FOOD/TOYS (mainly toys)

to make a long story short...
i've been working for the same guy for almost 6 years at two different companies. his people/mgt skills arent the greatest and the way he has been treating me and others lately has gotten me to the point where i wanted to see if there was anything else out there. so i emailed a woman who works at my company (the company is small, 9 people) and asked her if she knew of anywhere or anyone that might be hiring art directors/designers cause i thought i needed a change. her boss has been monitoring her emails apparently cause he is some weird control freak, and gave the email to my boss who took it as me stabbing him in the back. so i showed up to work this morning to find all of my design boooks, personal belongings, hard drives, everything piled up by the front door and i was told i could go home.
sorry that wasnt so short, but that's what happened in a nutshell

in the meantime, make sure you go down and get your unemployment pay set up. they will pay you in cases where you were fired due to wrongful termination

I got fired for recruiting other employees to my new employer, at least thats what the VP that fired me told me. I wouldn't take any of those fuck ups with me. My new job is awesome, so fuck them.

yeah, I dont think that's kosher. you can't be fired for looking for anohter job. Either way...unemployment checks rule.

If you're in California it is an "at employment" state. Basically either party can call it quits without reason unless there is a contract. You can't be fired if you've already given notice however, the can be rid of you, but will have to pay you up to the date given. Unemployment benefits are pretty much a given, unless there's some serious documentation or you've done something completely wrong, theft comes to mind.
I'm no pro, just some of the stuff I've dealt with. Oh yeah, unemployment does max out and it only lasts 6 months unless you get some sort of job training/schooling.

Dude, when I got out of the military and moved here from Alaska, I didnt have a job for 6 months while I looked for firefighting jobs.The great thing about Cali is the unemployement, I didnt even have to prove I was looking for a new job!I just signed my form every 2 weeks to get my check.

Sorry, not at the moment, but, as an employer, I can say that you are indeed headed to the land of paid unemployment. I just hope you were paying in along the way! -besides, getting a new job sounds like an upgrade. Go for it!
