if hukko's histpry still holds true, just wait a little while and people will be trying to give them away

i dont know if they have changed their run numbers now or anything, but the first ones were over 100 and people end up selling them for 30 or 40 at times

I think the run numbers will be lower. I can't say for sure or anything, but the large run numbers were before the TE acquisition. I know from past dealings with TE they tend to do smaller runs... sometimes much, much smaller runs.

Crap I knew I should have bought that monkey wolf guy I saw for 8000 yen. Was watching it for days, thinking it might hold till my payday this week. Looks like I shot myself in the foot posting about these. I'm not sharing info anymore.

Speaking of Uchugenjin. Now that the auction is over here is a picture of the first version:

And did anyone see this auction a few months back, I think many many versions were in it (since there are so many color variants of this sculpt). The new Hukko 2nd version is based of the one in the back far right:

Here are the other two photos from said auction:

^^ I saw it. Blew my brains! Seems almost unfair to only offer all those guys in one lot. Couldn't the seller have made more selling them individually? Then again, if you have all these in your possession already, maybe cashing in is not your motivation. <shrug>

I remember seeing that auction. It started at something crazy like 100,000 yen if I remember correctly.

I have one with the pale green face and orange chest and one in dark red.
GabbaGabba was the one who originally turned me on to this sculpt.

How is the new uchugenjin marked? Did they retain the old Yonezawa stamp? Is there a Hukkokudo mark?

Did they have like 80 different people painting these?
It's like the people who numbered the Nirvana love buzz 7"

It just says Made in Japan. No other marks on the feet or body.

And all the other reissues from the same batch have no marks at all!

Thoughts on the new stuff? I don't think I dislike 1 of the new run! Honestly, it's the best looking paint jobs in a long time! I wish I was able to get in on one of the yellow bird things, so cool. Hukkokudo brings the heat!

I like the new Uchun-Genjin.
Great updated colors on it.
I was too lazy to go back in this thread.
But why exactly is the bird part of this set?
I also wonder how these new ones compared to the originals in size.

The bird is quickly becoming one of my favorite toys ever. It stares at you wherever you are in the room. The sculpt is crude but effective, and having seen the vintage cards that show his powers makes me love him more.

I'm happy that they were sold separately this time around rather than being a gift figure only. It's the best toy in the set IMO.

That bird is definitely a tough one to get hold of, the second release (i think) red Uchu-Genjin is still my favourite though.

I twiddled my thumbs too long on the birds, wish I nabbed the one with blue paint. Jumped on the Uchu though, best version of the repros IMO. The blue looks really cool on it.

What are the birds powers?!

They are all great! I too was hesitant to get the birds. Now the decision has been made for me :( but I guess it's not the last we'll see of them!

The bird is a definite must. It has minimal mobility but a lot of personality and it is very photo worthy. The eyes are very sinister and the body very crude (like all of the other target earth repros.)
