Bizzarely Black Friday feels like one of the few days I managed NOT to be tempted to buy anything recently! . . . Sucky economy means too many good deals and hard-to-refuse offers!

Getting on a toy board and buying some sweet vinyl is weird, but it isn't being a piece of trash to people you live with.

I like to think I see through all the lies, but some I choose to accept as opposed to others. It's all about controlling the masses. There is no right or left, just greed and power. I think we're all responding to some subversive cultural mandate when we buy non-essentials, however, I can say for sure that obsessed kaiju collectors are in every way superior consumers to the Black Friday crowd.

With collecting in general there is such a greater appreciation of the object, to the point where there is an aspect of collecting that approaches the spiritual. On other hand seasonal gift giving is more perfunctory, hence the focus on "deals" and forays into bad behavior.

We're all going for broke in our owns ways, the difference is in creating a community versus creating a mob.

My only Black Friday purchases were $8 blu-rays from Amazon and you can't beat free shipping to boot.

I don't have the strength or patience to do endless waiting in line and the rushing scares me. I am a short person and getting trampled is a possibility since I probably can't move as fast I should.

Most of the items I want never go on sale and with enough patience you can find great deals online.

But I do know people who enjoy these bargain binges. It's the thrill of the hunt and I can identify with that so I understand completely.

I bought a TV and some video games and may buy some more shit before the weekend's over. All online. All for ME! I did my Christmas shopping last month. Then I may spend more money on over priced toys. Then be in debt. Then not pay it.

It's not always sold out online. If you know what you want and know where to look, you can find decent stuff. I mean, NewEgg had some pretty amazing deals. Ditto with Other World Computing. But that's tech only.

But my problem with “Black Friday” is I am not against consumerism, but this is insane. Folks are seriously waiting in line to get into a place at 5:00am to get a $20 DVD player? Really? Some people just waited in line to buy anything. And that's the clincher.

I have waited in line to get tickets to shows I want to go to. Or buy something I needed and wanted. But people into “Black Friday” because it’s “Black Friday” are nuts in my book.

FIRSTNESS! The Cult of Primacy is beyond religion and economics, but can be more easily said to involve the individual and his/her relation to society. An incredible amount of things in life are controlled by Primacy, or "firstness" as this lady describes it. She has triumphed here. Can you not understand? It is a revolt of all the instances where individuals are screwed over by virtue of their non-primacy, their last-ness or their second-placed-ness. She has found an angle of control over the system. The same illusory control is available to all of us every year at this time and many others. But for now, she has grasped it from all the nation. And I say HUZZAH! Cheers to you and your happiness through Primacy! She is first for probably the only "important" time in her life. And if you scoff at its "importance", how "important" to you is "happiness"?
