The way Mori designed the color scheme over the clear and kept bottom of head, arms, feet unpainted, is gorgeous. I'm always amazed at how innovative he gets with his designs to keep'em fresh. And the Chaos Nextman....just beautiful!

I realize the micro-release can be frustrating at times, but you couldn't be more wrong in this presumption Ben. Nobody has done more than Mori-san to combat the ever-changing game of flipping.

"Nobody has done more than Mori-san to combat the ever-changing game of flipping."
I also would like to know, what do you mean by this? It seems to me that micro runs are what fuels flipping... however, there is allot of fun in micro runs, its just no fun missing out on certain releases particularly if one breaks down to pay a flipper to get one.

seems like it has come full circle. There was a time not too long ago when everyone here in the states were calling for Mori to slow it down...too many releases....can't keep up..... and people stopped buying. Mini's anyone?
now we don't get as much and some are crying foul.
can't have it both ways.
I for one, love and welcome the renewed interest in RxH. Real x Head NOT DEAD..!!!

can't have it both ways. The first part of what you say is accurate Kirkland; people did ask for a slow down in releases. But there actually seem to be way more releases - just way fewer of each one and available in Japan only for the most part. Someone pointed out a couple of months ago that 16 evils alone had been released since SDCC10. I've seen some amazing colorways pop up as recent micro-releases - as great as those initial ones - but I'm sad to say my RxH collecting has drastically declined because I (like many others) simply cant get these great new releases. I wish I could, I'd scoop a load of em up.

People are used to shopping now, not collecting. if it isn't easy to get, people whine. What happened to the collecting and hunting down aspect of this hobby? Seems like it has gone the way of the preorder. To each their own of course, but to me, it seems boring to buy every release on a preorder.

I'm burnt-out already and I hardly bought anything since the new wave of micro releases. I just want a nice Nextman and a new hone borg and I'm done.
I'm not big on hunting...well not for EVERYTHING i like. but I do save money on all the stuff I'm not scoring, so it's no biggie.

Seems like it has gone the way of the preorder. To each their own of course, but to me, it seems boring to buy every release on a preorder. Well, as someone who wasn't around for the old days of RxH, let me ask you, were releases then easier or harder to get than the 'micro-run' system today? Based on my reading through the Real Head collection thread from start to finish a few times, it seems like plenty of people we able to track down the bulk of the more common releases and snag enough rare ones to be worth discussing. The last few months have just been a coyly teased blur, where noone stateside seems to be able to get anything at all, and even retailers seem in the dark. Even the regular preorders you can't stand aren't all getting filled even after money changes hands... I know I sound like a broken record, but it feels like communication has only gotten worse since RHUS debuted.

 Re: New RxH . . .
You used to not be able to buy RxH from retailers at all. Maybe S7 would get a few and maybe they'd make it online. So it was eBay (about 75% less then what's up now if anything) or YJA or if you had a pal in Japan. Similar to the micro runs now. But people didn't whine as much is all, they just kept tracking the stuff down. Also the percentage of collectors was different. Gotta keep going, never let down!
What amount of acquiring a toy makes it "worth it" btw? I mean I collect some "easy" and some "hard" stuff to get, whether it's a small amount or large or just 1 I'm glad to get what I can. It's always worth it if you like it. If you miss out over and over and over it's not personal, it's just tough to get and you gotta work harder and longer at it.

^^kidding, plastichunter. that duderette has a bigger adam's apple than me. I figured you couldn't be that gullible. And I just want to second you on the Honeborg. Mori never did really go crazy on that sculpt. I love my Hone Borg collection but I think it's deserving of one or two releases with wild and crazy paint schemes. Oh yeah, and I could use a Nextman and the recent pink and gold Chaos which I think there were only three of.

Hahaha...no talk of the last Chaos of 2010 cause I didn't post a pic. People are getting lazy and don't want to dig around anymore even though it is very easy to find.

 Re: New RxH . . .
Acquiring something I want makes it worth it. If it's hard for me to find, I think that makes it a bit more special to me.
Bert you're right. People want stuff without doing any legwork at all. Thats how I see it anyway.
Personally, I miss the days of staying up until 3 or 4 in the morning to see what showed up after festivals. It was a total crap shoot, mostly because none of us knew what was coming out. I would wait to see what photos got posted to flickr with baited breath.
Eh things won't be the same, but I still think doing a little research and legworkmakea this hobby a lot more fun and interesting.

 Re: New RxH . . .
Yea the thrill of the hunt is exciting, I tracked down all but two or three of the original hard to get group of Bigaro's, Evils and Heads that I was looking for, mostly for really good fair prices, man was it fun, it was also a new experience for me. It made sense after all it was Mori's first waves and is of artistic and historical importance. Now I look at the new stuff and really like many of them, particularly the Next Man and wonder why are excessive micro releases only happening for Japan when there is a Real Head USA site up and running?
