Too similar to be a coincidence.

Yup, the Mysterious Ape is totally based on one of those guys. He started out as a molding/casting experiment and it kind of grew from there... Weirdo Toys is an AWESOME blog and is a must-follow. That ape he has looks like it's covered in mold or something, I've seen a few of these guys around and have never seen one like that. Or it could be a bootleg, and we're just following in the tradition.

these guys look even more similar, WTF??!!? That was a dirty, stinky, smelly experiment. plastichunter wrote: I think it's time for a MH flocked Ape. Really bad green and brown flock. Isn't 2011 the year of the flocked ape on the flocked animals calendar?

I think Mishka had some keychains that were just like the Ape. Found it: http://mishkanyc.verbsite.net/bloglin/w ... chains.jpg

Oh man, I wish! IG is just sort of an interpretation of a 50s/60s Wally Wood-esque spaceman/monster. Loving that sticker on him though, I'm going to have to steal it for something.
