The hedoro started heading down a path that I wasn't happy with, so instead of rushing him to meet the deadline, I realized I should start another piece from scratch instead of trying waste time on something that wouldn't be show quality. The Karma Boy was one I wanted to originally include so I guess it worked out in the long run. Don't worry though, the hedoro will be showing up soon

It's been a while since I posted on here, but that's mostly because the stuff I've been working on lately for shows and commissions weren't in the Kaiju realm. I am happy to report that my gf got me an airbrush for Xmas, so I spent most of my weekend toying around with it. I couldn't resist spraying some vinyl so I grabbed the troublesome mini hedo and got to spraying. I didn't really have a direction with this, just wanted to practice color mixing and blending. I've gotta say, I love my regular brushes, but I can tell I'm really going to love airbrushing once I get a full handle on it. I didn't clear coat this either since I figured I'll probably keep playing with it. I also plan on picking up some MK paints soon to really start in on some Kaiju.

Any tips or hints you've got send them my way

Unfortunately living in Columbus and living on Campus at the same time Troy Smith was at OSU, this joke has really lost it's shine with me. On the plus side though, it did make for fast pizza delivery and man were those delivery guys disappointed when a white guy answered the door

Thanks man! I decided to seal the deal on the 1st Hedo, so I put on a quick glitter coat (which is hard to see in the pics) and a gloss coat.





Thankfully I wasn't hungover from NYE and I was able to mess around with some kaiju on New Years day. My NYE was pretty tame bc my bday was the day before I jumped back on the 2nd Hedo I started a few days prior, originally I basecoated it black and went for an inky bluish color. That proved to be too dark and the colors were becoming muddled, so I re-basecoated it white and went a brighter more traditional route with things. Still practicing color blending and mixing as much as possible. I'll finish this new colorway tonight and then get started on the next custom finally.

I finished the 2nd Hedo last night with some silver around the eyes, then a pearlescent coat, and finally a gloss coat. Sorry for the bad pics, just taking snapshots with my phone right now.





Here's a shot of the first coat of pink on a Jinja. I've had an idea for this guy for a little while, so I figured I'd finally put it into action. I'll update with more pics once it's completely finished.

Consider this run #1 with Jinja. I'll be doing another one while this one is fresh on my mind. I learned a few things with this one, that I want to apply to the next. This one went down a little more conformed path than I originally intended when I started, so I want the next one to be a bit more wild. I'll probably play with the pink again, but use it in a little different way the next go around. Either way, lots of fun to paint and always good to learn.

I got the base colors laid out on the 2nd Jinja for the most part last night. Went more metallic and more fades this go (of course phone pics don't really do any of that justice haha), I'll be adding further details next.

the jinja-r has gone ignored for too long. it deserves more attention like this!

I got the gloss coat on this little guy last night. He's heading out to the Super 7 One-Offs show now. I got a late invite, so I was only able to get this one piece out and ready since I already had some other stuff going on. Either way, he was a lot more fun to paint that I had first thought he would be, snow cones were the obvious choice for inspiration for this one.

I'm down. Shit's nice!
