One is forced to wonder (well, I am anyway):
What if WWII had never happened?

That's a good question. I'd say two scenarios.
1) Japan's growth wouldn't be so fast. It was because of the devastation that they had to re-built and that momentum carried them to where they are today.

2) Or she could look like Coruscant by now?
