And F everyone with off street parking. Try living with snow emergencies where they limit parking to only one side of the street. Half of the available parking spots disappear.
If you find a parking spot, be prepared to get plowed in by the trucks.
If you get shoveled out, the side streets are a major headache as they're reduced to single lanes.
And then you come home to find that someone has "stolen" your spot on the streets.
Sucks... O man this THIS is the worst. You spend all that time shoveling only to know that someone else is gonna take that spot the second you leave. I have seen people come close to fist fights over this. I once shoveled out my assigned spot after a 14" snowfall only to find someone else park in it instead of shoveling their spot out. I shoveled out their spot and packed all the snow on top of their car. I was pretty proud of myself. They had no idea what happened but I still enjoy the memory.

I think we're suppose to get 20 inches here in Buffalo. Then again I'll believe it when I see it. Weatherman love to predict storm of the century every time it even flurries.

Looks like another week or two of getting around on foot, bus and subway till this stuff goes away.
Buses suck as they're always late and the passengers are usually sketchy.

A fellow Philadelphian. I hate snow but decide to live in Chicago because I'm a fat ass and love it's food more than anything. We've been lucky so far but we keep getting "warnings" but even if it hits it's just what it is. More salt and plows that's all.

Re: I F#$%ing Hate the SNOW! I was born in Atlanta, moved to Chicago and Boston before I was 5, grew up in Vineland NJ, moved to Philadelphia. Then back to Vineland then Paramus NJ before moving to Brooklyn for a a lot of years and then Buffalo for the last five. TRUST ME. If I had a job waiting for me on the other coast or abroad I'd be there. I fucking hate the northeast. People/history are one thing but cleaner cities and better geography/weather patterns are completely another. At 42 warmer weather wins out by miles, as I've seen enough snow to last a few lifetimes.

I understand the distaste for it, and at least as far as my family goes I'm always doing all I can to get the driveway clean. I love helping out friends of mine and nearby strangers too. I'm out of shape but I LOVE the cold so I get out there with a shovel and wreak havoc, good fun.
