 Re: Kaws x Robert Lazzerini
I just opened the one I got. Only got the gray because it's the only one that stands up straight and doesn't look broken.
But like Andy said, the best thing about these is that they make you appreciate the original ones more. Really glad I didn't opt for more. Bleh.

 Re: Kaws x Robert Lazzerini
Seeing those shots of the OG versions set against the Lazzerinis makes me like these more. But seeing as I don't have any of the OG companions, I'm not too bothered about passing on these.
Seems those that scored a set are happy with them, nevertheless.

 Re: Kaws x Robert Lazzerini
Uh...the whole pt of these is that they don't stand up straight like the OG.
Love how they made a different sculpt for each color...would have sucked to have had 3 of the same sculpt.
Each one has a unique distortion. They stand on their own no problem and are quite stable. It seems the key is having a tripod like stance. You can't see it but each one has a triangle of pts that touch the ground to keep it stable.

I know....but it's one thing to look like it's wavy, surreal, or even natural like a tree branch and another to look like some kid took a blow torch to it. I just don't think the distortions were done well. IMO of course.

 Re: Kaws x Robert Lazzerini
I'm really glad these stand...I honestly thought they were blobs that lay there.
I'm tempted to get one to see if I can hairdryer it back into the original non-distorted shape....

 Re: Kaws x Robert Lazzerini
At first I thought these were pretty cool and just interesting looking. But after a few days of sitting on the shelf, I'm loving them about 10x. Just browsing around the collect, they really grab the eye. And with shelf lighting the waviness is even more accentuated. Photo comparison

 Re: Kaws x Robert Lazzerini
I really am digging these Kaws figures. I really enjoy and appreciate Salvador Dali's art and Surrealism in general (there are many great works of surrealist art by many talented artists). I think it's great that this style is making it's way to vinyl toy format. I do hope more toys are going to be created in a similar fashion.

 Re: Kaws x Robert Lazzerini
People are actually preordering these without having seen a pic? Is it confirmed that the dissected side will not just be printed on ?

Kaws is cranking out so much stuff lately, he can allow pre-orders on a concept design image, lol. What's next, pre-orders for a figure he didn't even think of yet?

Judging by how small I think that paint bottle he's standing on is, I would say he looks like 8".
