Anybody like "A Different Kind of Tension" by the Buzzcocks?
I do. It has so many great memories for me, like riding down Rock Creek Parkway at 2 am returning home from the Georgetown bars in my VW convertible bug... I digress...

so is Gogamezilla the proper name for these guys? I thought I'd seen them also called Gogamejera and possibly something else?

Pic are all over the place in here.
I don't know what the proper name is, but my I gather from different sources that the name of the figure in question is the "gogamezilla" and that the gogamezilla is one of the "gogamegira" (the later being a more generic name for AnrakuAnsaku creatures in general).
This might be completely wrong, but that is how I understand it.
Whatever the name is, each different basic colorway is limited to 30 or fewer pieces. For example, the Black Hole Aurora version, which I have and Ike has, is limited to 30 total, with a number of different variations of the dominant paint color. Ike's is a dominant red; mine is a dominant light blue.
There were only 6 of the Darth Vader Dakos made, I have been told.
So whatever color you have, these are basically ultra limted hand-painted pieces...

So why did you want more? Or was it a "rhetorical" request?

You know, I think they are amazing pieces of art.
But in times of too much cool stuff, it's actually OK to abstain from a certain toy line and not be cool, and actually take the time to enjoy what you currently have.
Sometimes, you gotta just "EAT IT".

That's one of the things I really like about the gogameziilla, is that there is so much "cool" stuff that is only cool because there is so much of it and it's popular and groovy. I like the gogas in large part because they are quirky, not for everybody and rare (plus they rule in the sculpt and paint departments).
I don't really know what "cool" even means. But some things just sort of have that special aura or feeling to them. If they become too common, they somehow lose their "cool." I am not being clear, and I am not certain I can explain what I mean. This just sounds like a lot of BS. And it probably is.

I've got a 'baby' one ... does that count?
Actually when I first saw pics of the Gogamejira I thought it was a RIDICULOUS sculpt - that outsize head & tiny wings. And I don't dig all the colors I've seen on the web.
I've only ever seen one of the big ones first hand once. It was (kind of turquoise) blue, the spray on it was beautiful, like an irridescent rainbow, and it was only about $100 so I was sorely tempted ... but the damn thing is so BIG (the head alone is the size of an ostrich egg!) I just wouldn't have anywhere to put it and I had to pass. (Would've made a good HOOD ORNAMENT I suppose). I'd like to get one of those pink Octopus King things though.
Oh, and I like the Buzzcocks btw.
