Re: 新年快乐！ those are called mooncakes, usually sweet or salty pastry-type things made out of lotus seed paste. and they're usually eaten during mid-autumn festival, rather than the lunar new year  although depending on where you're at, the lunar new year is still celebrated with eating a whole lot of other goodies. happy year of the rabbit to everyone! 恭喜发财！
