Post Re: Boss Carrion
That was for the mailing list from my site.
You signed up for my mailing list right?
If you signed up for the mailing list you would get the form, but if you already entered before you got the email from my mailing list,
why worry about it? You already entered.

What amazes me more than people with multiple entries which is stated in the rules, is people entering their Family members.

People don't think I notice this crap? It's become overwhelming.

I was really hoping this lottery would work because I wanted it to be FAIR , but unfortunately it's some people entering who are helping it to fail.
I had a feeling this would happen.
Everyone can thank them for sending me back to "private" sales.

Lame sauce.

Ah that sucks Paul! Do you have to cull through 1000+ entries to eliminate the invalid ones by hand? Or is there a way via the form data that it can be done automatically? yeesh.

that really does suck Paul, I'm sorry to hear the lottery idea isn't working out.

This is a real fucking shame. It's a weird situation to be stuck in, though... I mean, it's awesome that Boss is so popular, but at the same time that popularity gets the sharks circling, and it doesn't seem like a good solution has been figured out. The fact that you got over a thousand entries is absurd! I'd be curious to see the ratio of honest dudes who entered once and were done to the abusers who entered packs of entries or just multiple times.

I would imagine this could be exported to a spreadsheet and sorted by IP. Filter it by unique IP's and you're done 8)

I spend too much time in Excel.

I feel bad that you're trying to do a cool thing and it's ruined by some people.
Hope it works out. You can always scrap the lottery and return to surprise sales for this one too.
It might save you time. Anyway..thanks again for putting out a cool toy.

No, by all means this lottery isn't over just because of some nitwits.

The tools Melissa set me up with make it so much more "transparent" so to say.
Plenty of spreadsheet here.

as much extra work as this means in the end it could be a blessing in disguise, eliminate all the fraudulant entries and go on with bussiness and you know a deserving individual will likely wind up with it since you can leave the knuckleheads on the cutting room floor

This is unfortunate. It shouldn't have to be this hard to make it fair for everyone. Hopefully it can be sorted out. Shame on you nitwits!

Noting the IP address, mailing address, and last names will help eliminate some of the cheaters but I know there are people who will get friends to enter on their behalf in which case there really is no way to catch them.

How about signing the figures to the winners' names? That'll throw a cog into their plans.

You should post all the info of the people that entered multiple times. Make that public knowledge, share it with other toy makers and stop the flow of toys to these guys.

Well, I guess it sucks for me, because both my girlfriend and I entered from the same IP last night because we happened to be together! We live at seperate adresses, and we are both collectors (my girlfriend is member emwe), and we were both battling it out to see who won! I guess neither of us have a chance :(!

I don't see why go threw so much to stop a flipper. I've seen them on here and on eBay for over 200 so what's the difference? The lottery is a great idea, it gives everyone a chance. If someone had 15 friends enter out of 1000+ entry it still gives everyone a chance. I think it's better than having a "flipper" and his 15 friends sit next to a computer waiting for them to go on sale so they can be first.

"flipping" is going to happen, For what ever the reason either because it was the incentive or because you lost interest in the figure. I'm just saying it's gonna happen regardless. Plus i can be one to complain, it's been a thing of eBay for me to get my boss collection complete :( .

But I have a large family, and none of us know how to share.

Sorry this has become a headache, I thought the lotto was a good way to give everyone a fair shot.

I guess that's what you get for making a rad toy PK. Damn decent of you for trying though, unlike most makers who probably don't care, or enjoy people flipping their toy.
I guess nothing you can do can stop the me me me attitude so common these days. I mean why should collectors care if you have to waste your time trying to fish out the people who entered multiple time. As long as they get the toy they can't live without or can make some quick money off of anothers hard work.
