Re: The "What you just got in the Mail" Thread
To be honest I am not bothered which thread its in. Maybe I am in the minority and making comments about guns and protecting your collection is cool. Right to bear arms and and all that.
Personally i dont like guns, and associate them with violence and the willingness to kill people. Coming fomr a largely gun free country, and moving to one where gun violence is in teh news every day rather than an anomaly informs my feelings on teh subject. However, I also know plenty of like minded people here in LA. I just dont figure Skullbrain as a place for guns, or posting pictures of them. Feel free to disagree as you are doing so.

It was in poor taste. Nothing wrong with a firearm collection, but shooting people is not something to joke about. Moving on...

And why should guns be welcomed just like anything else? With your logic you could replace "guns" with anything. But there are things that are not welcome, no matter what section they're in (nudity as an example). Guns - particularly handguns - are meant to kill people. That's not something that should just be welcomed out of hand.

Re: The "What you just got in the Mail" Thread
I just don't see the point in posting a handgun on this site. I suppose I could go to one of the thousands of gun sites on the web and post a picture of a toy but I shouldn't be surprised if I got some negative feedback. I think it is a matter of taste, and the way in which it was presented. While I support your right to own a firearm, and to take pictures of it to your hearts content, I personally found it offensive on skullbrain. I guess I'm just a little odd, I would much rather see pictures of naked bodies than a handgun.

Re: The "What you just got in the Mail" Thread
it always cracks me up to see people engage in the "guns kill people" debate. I suppose we should make knives illegal? Maybe Baseball bats? Hammers? Maybe we just shouldn't allow people to have hands? Maybe make vehicles illegal? Is it ironic that I just saw this on the news? http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2011-02-12-new-york-stabbings_N.htmPersonally, I think we should just make humanity illegal since the common factor in every murder is people. And though while I agree Scret Spce the picture should have been posted in another thread, IT IS nice gun! Nice pickup! P.S. Oops I spelled "Secret Space" wrong... I'm just going to blame my keyboard for that one

It's a toy forum, not a weapons forum. It's a beauty but it doesn't belong here.

I'd like to say it also cracks me up to see people engage in the lets ban everything debate because it too can kill people. I'd like to, but I cant as it just makes me sad. If you can explain to me how someone can spray a crowd with knives, bats or hammers and inflict fatal injuries on the number of a people a gun would before being stopped, then go ahaed. Hang on ...think I've got it... if the crowd all run repeatedly onto teh knife, or line up to be batted or hammered.... Yeah thats it. And that doesnt even take into account drive by hammerings. OK I agree. Lets ban humanity. Look, I know I'm not gonna win this one. People who love guns REALLY love 'em, and while I dont have to agree thats their perogative. But I've been on here a long time, and I think this is teh first time I've seen such a pro-gun sentiment. Things must be bad. So yeah - back to the toys. Besides if I get shot, and I'm not already dead, I can always get a ride in the WAMBULANCE, gun-hatin wuss that I am.
