 Re: Danzig talk
i like some of the new-er misfits work. i don't think danzig was the only talent in that band.
i don't pay attention to misfits/danzig drama. danzig should just stay out of the spotlight unless he's releasing music or playing live. imo, he tends to come off as whiny when talking about the past.

In his defense he rarely brings the past up, it's usually some interviewer asking about the Misfits again. And again. And again. Honestly as a reader/fan I find it boring, I'm sure he's gone far past that. It's a weird line with Danzig, if he didn't put off that hard-ass attitude and wasn't so over serious all the time things like "Glenn and Henry..." wouldn't be so funny. He sets himself up. But then without all of that, he wouldn't be Danzig. I'd watch a whole series of "Glenn and Henry" but I assume there'd be legal issues with a real series. Know what's funnier then G&H? All of Danzig's interviews from the VHS tapes he released during Danzig and Danzig II. The comic pulls a few jokes from those, like his bookshelf. I think they're on Youtube, but I have the actual tapes that I pop in now and then. They're weird because it's like videos and live footage and I'm all "YEAH DANZIG!" then the interviews pop in or scenes of him running shirtless with wolves and I'm all "Uuuum what?!"

 Re: Danzig talk
When you interview Danzig, the trick is to get him to talk about the Misfits in a way that he will want to answer the question.

^ Greatest Danzig song of all time. I really like that S/T a lot. Danzig also wrote the Orbison song on it and it's really great. These 2 songs make me sad sometimes, how good he CAN be instead of that crappy nu-metal-industrial-crap-rock junk he's been really into. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HWjB1X-cqsM

 Re: Danzig talk
I agree with the nu-metal comment completely. Can you imagine if Roy made those albums with Rick Rubin like Johnny Cash did? What are you teasing about Kichigai?

 Re: Danzig talk
Well he covered Sabbath on 5 and Elvis in Samhain and the same song as Danzig on Thrall (Trouble).

 Re: Danzig talk
OG misfits did 'blue christmas' back in the early 1980s.. my favorite song he has covered is the classic ratfink, which i would love to hear him recover again only Acoustic & btw the only teasing i do is with my pets, really not into bullshit or out to impress anyone. i laugh when i read comments about Danzig ripping off Led Zep but yet those fools have no fucking clue how much that band ripped off early American Blues artists. I would do almost anything to hear Glenn cover Robert Johnson

 Re: Danzig talk
He covered "The Hunter" too but gave no credit on the album insert, classic Glenn.

 Re: Danzig talk
It takes a hell of an ego to think you can improve upon 70's era Oz Man. What's next Pavarotti covers? Beethoven?

Yeah that would be awesome. I'm more of a Danzig-era Misfits fan. I listened to Danzigs solo stuff back in high school . I have Black Aria II, I thought it was kinda cool ambient stuff... (but I really just picked it up for the awesome cover art. )

Man, I never saw this before today - wonder if he ever made any kind of deal with Michael Golden? http://www.comics.org/issue/212228/cover/4/

 Re: Danzig talk
There are lots of stories out there where Glenn claims that he drew it originally and submitted it to marvel. The die die cover ripped off chamber of chills, and the crimson ghost rip off, I guess everything art wise for him has all been "derivative".

 Re: Danzig talk
It was pretty silly of him to actually attempt to sue someone else for using the skull. The person just whipped out the comic and bam, there was no case. In other Danzig news, supposedly he's going to write an original song exclusively for The Hangover Part 2. You can see the Satan's Child Danzig Skull on the back of the vest the monkey is wearing!

 Re: Danzig talk
I saw that the other day too, hahaha.
I kind of love Danzig more for totally sticking to the BS story that he drew the skull and didn't lift it from the comic. I mean, using images like that isn't unheard of in punk/metal so no one would've cared. But dude sticks to his (ridiculous) guns.
On the Hangover 2 song, I guess that's cool to get the exposure. I wasn't super into the Hangover, but did notice the "13" song during the credits. I didn't hate it, just wasn't nuts over it.

I just realized. Glenn kind of looks like Alien Ressurection's Sigourney Weaver.
