toybotstudios wrote: CCPfan wrote: we stock these. overall they're cool, huge and hopefully 3A slows down their release dates...it's getting to be a bit overkill! Are they selling? I get the sense that most of the 3A members are voracious when it comes to new releases. I'm wondering if the same is true for retail customers? i don't want to speak for ccpfan... but I would think that many of the retailers that want to carry 3A are small businesses. with the rapid release rate.... I would think that a retailer would have to pay a buttload of money up front to at least meet the minimum order requirements (or at least carry a few of each release) & it gets difficult for them to operate if they constantly have thousands of dollars tied up for months.

 Re: threeA Toys
They sell, although now that Sideshow Toys does the distro for most of their lines it's hard to compete with them and their pricing. And 3A is very, very slow on answering any of their emails / distribution requests so many of the smaller stores, like ours, gets passed over for consideration on any exclusive offers.

 Re: threeA Toys
So what is the story with this toy? i.e. the name..It's pretty cool looking. Is it hard to get? etc. If someone can message me that would be great.

 Re: threeA Toys
It was released at a festival in Japan (wonderfest?). Sold out in seconds. That's pretty much it.

 Re: threeA Toys
yeah, gotta be quick relatively quick on these releases. 3A members get 24 hrs or less to put in their order. after that, poof. they are gone forever until they hit the aftermarket.

In all 500 pcs will be circulated. Each are price at 12,000 JPY excluding shipping. I suggests to by the items directly for Bamba, be a regular at the forum. As for the retail items, try to get them from participating retails. I urge to support the smaller retailers. I have heard Sideshow’s shipping for the retail 3A items are slow. Even after the smaller retailers have shipped all their order, those whom got it from Sideshow still have not received their orders.

as someone that doesn't normally even try to buy 3A stuff, i couldn't help but get in on the Fighting JC figures, but my question now is... where the hell are they? i don't know what 3A's release schedule is like but i'm sure i paid for that guy months ago and haven't heard a single word about them

But they do put alot of detail into their toys and from what I read on another forum they are a small operation. The latest I heard about the fighting JC is late March early April for them to arrive in the US.

 Re: threeA Toys
They have the best business model ever! Everything is pre-sold, so no risk! They get their ads made for free by fans! I don't know, I love their toys but they annoy me a bit. And try criticizing them on any boards and boom: their herd of sycophants strikes back. I feel they're overdoing it and that speculation is rampant at a Kaws level. Might crash soon.

 Re: threeA Toys
I REALLY got into 3A last year. Expensive and takes a little longer than it should to get them but they really are well worth it, sooooo goooood. I would LOVE to score that JDF Dropcloth but man the aftermarket prices on those are outta hand crazy if you can even find them. Here is the last collection shot I took but I've scored the WWR 1/6 Iron Panda Large Martin since then.

 Re: threeA Toys
I've been collecting 3A since the beginning. I have a pretty large collection but by no means the largest or most expansive. Love the toys BUT I do think they're trying to do too much all at once which is making things suffer across the board — shipping, quality, customer service — they're all taking a hit because the operation is small and it seems they do not want to add more people. My friend owns a store and tried to contact them about carrying their stuff and never heard back. I can't tell if it's a blatant disregard for smaller stores or if it's a language barrier thing. Could be a bit of both. So far I've been ok with the shipping delays. 1, I didn't order any Martins so I wasn't all that peeved like the rest of the world. And 2...when I do get something I am still as thrilled as I was from getting my first Bertie back in February of '08. When the toys stop making me happy is when I will stop buying.
In reference to the JDF Dropcloth — there are several other versions of the Dropcloth that are more easily attainable. That is one of if not the more rare of that robot. Certain retailers may still have some available. Sideshow may have some and there are still a bunch of fleabay for about retail.
And yes..because of the 3AA membership people who have it almost never buy anywhere but on Bambaland because you get a 15% discount. The retail exclusives tend to negate that a bit but with items like the Berties, they were so hard to get it was practically not even worth trying to get them. 1/6Bruce is the only place that really did it right... they gave first dibs on the retail exclusives to repeat customers. Now those damn things are pulling in like 4–500 bucks each in the aftermarket. I've been in 3AA for 2 full years and signed up for year 3 and haven't purchased anything from anywhere other than Bambaland in that time.

You need to let em out. But your collection is probably bursting at the seams. Finding room for everything is becoming an issue for me as well.

I also have a couple examples of being excited when I order them, but 6 months later when they arrive, i'm not that excited any longer. the bertie with the twin cannon being my next example. Heavy Brambles being the exception as well as the Mongrol (i hope). as for this crash, i'm not so sure. 3A keeps on pumping out new lines. ABC warriors will be a hit and has started the frenzy all over. Bandai licenses, again. Kojima, again.
