Re: Endhiran - Indian Robot action movie !!!
Endhiran is pretty great if you like Tamil cinema that is. If you don't you should probably watch the final end fight and just be amazed. If you are new to Indian film it's a pretty good starting point but understand what you get yourself into. Three hour epics, over the top musical numbers and some of the most beautiful women in the world. Something to be watched with friends or in a packed theater to see how true fans of Tamil cinema bring the experience into the seats. But while it's jaw droppingly crazy to watch there's plenty of cgi in the film that fails to meet the standard level of Hollywood cinema so people may be disappointed. Hollywood does lack some of the insane creativity in Endhiran though. It's kinda a mix of Bicentennial Man with some Terminator and a bit of Matrix. The musical numbers are really great and work well within the story unlike some Bollywood and Tamil films where they are just there because the audience require it.
The most important aspects of Endhiran are Rajnikanth and Aishwarya Rai. With Rajini (He plays both the robot and the doctor who designs the robot in his image) he's Tamil cinemas biggest star, he's cool, smooth, and an icon of cinema. Over 20 years of just being a great actor in good or bad films. In the aspect of Aishwarya Rai there may not be a more beautiful woman alive working in film. A.R. Rahman did the music and he's an Oscar winner with his work with Danny Boyle in things like 127 hours and Slumdog Millionaire which is a big reason the music works so well. I haven't seen the film in over a year so I am probably forgetting a few things but hopefully some of you guys check it out.
The big film coming out of India this year is RA.One. It's got a good vibe going and I think is released at the end of this year. Sort of an Hindi (Not Tamil) Iron man thing. It's got Shahrukh in it who's a pretty big Bollywood film draw so it could be fun.
