I don't think you need to bake apoxie. Pretty sure it cures in the air in a matter of hours. However, I could be mistaken, I've never worked with it.

Haha well I'll take a set of before paint complete sculpts pics for ya It'll start it's paint journey tomorrow since I'll need to let the epoxy sit over night to dry. Which I guess answers the oven question as well. I try not to use polymer clays with customs anymore because of the heating process. While I have a heat gun, it's still a really slow process. Epoxies work a lot better for customizing, while Super Sculpey and the like are better for original sculpts imo.

Glad you liked the WIP pics along the way. I'll be painting like crazy tonight and tomorrow. zapatoloco wrote: like a beautiful skin disease gainig ground...impressive. Thanks man! If I had more time I would have liked to have done a series of progressions to get to this point, but there's never enough time. Since I promised rhinomilk more sets leading up to the final I figured I'd share the finished sculpt pics from last night.

I quite like what you have done with the body. almost think you should make a new head that matches it.

While I've wanted to keep the head as is from the start, after finishing the body I could definitely see moving onto the head. Either way this one will stay untouched and I'll keep that idea for the next one eckotyper wrote: It looks great Troy! living dead wrote: Really impressive Thanks a lot you two! i'm sure these dull camera phone photos are undermining the beauty of your work. we need to see fully lit, crisp shots!
also, i don't want to be hugged by his belly-tentacles. that would make for an awkward moment.

incredible. love the way those silver accents pop, and the subtle blacks (especially over the reds and blues) really give it a depth. phenomenal job, and anybody would be lucky to score that for their collection.

Haha ok ok sorry, I was half awake when taking those pics and I'm even more of a zombie today Just did a batch of sharpened and brightened pics. as far as the eye is concerned, there's nothing human about this one. Actually though, I tried to find an alternative to the original but didn't come up with anything locally, running low on time meant I couldn't order one either so I opted to paint the original. ¡DEECO! wrote: pretty awesome!!!! congrats on a job well done! Re: Troy Stith's Customs - New Miscreants Series for DCon
Here's my new series of Miscreants for Designer Con this Saturday. Strain: Anphibateamis Symptoms: Large scaly patches form in the lungs. Tongue elongates from mouth and thick white mucus appears. Tips of phalanges excrete a clear sticky substance. Eyes protrude from sockets and become glazed and sensitive to light. Strain: Aquasantosis Classified: Communicable Symptoms: Bloating progressing to extreme swelling of skin due to water retention. Skin turns a deep bluish green. Bones begin to soften eventually turning into a liquid like substance that can no longer support the patient’s body weight. Strain: Carbatitis Symptoms: Found in extremely active patients. Metabolic system becomes highly overactive. Patient experiences accelerated caloric burning resulting in the body using organs for energy. Contracted through sweat gland secretions. Strain: Hematcysis Symptoms: Violent and erratic loss of muscle control causing patient to inflict wounds upon themselves. Large contusions appear as massive amounts of blood pools in the soft tissue. Results in extreme discoloration and permanent disfigurement. Strain: Pilaboilpus Symptoms: Bumps appear in large clusters in the creases of the skin causing redness, swelling and extreme discomfort. Clusters begin to merge as one pus filled boil eventually spreading over the entire body. Strain: Retromin Hybrid 80 Symptoms: Hair follicles secrete a hardening substance that increases size. Patient feels the urge to wear brightly colored clothing and engage in mindless babble. Bodily gyration coupled with constant sniffing result of daily memory loss and repetitious behaviors. Each plaque has the Miscreants bio on the back for easy filing. All of the Miscreants will be available at the Toypinionated booth #412. The small (Retromin Hybrid 80, Hematcysis, Carbatitis, and Aquasantosis) Miscreants are $25 a piece and the two larger (Pilaboilpus & Anphibateamis) Miscreants are $35 a piece.

They all look great, Troy, but I'm especially partial to the second-to-last pictured. Good luck with these!

Re: Troy Stith's Customs - New Miscreants Series for DCon
For anyone that might be interested, the Miscreants are now up in my shop Now that DCon is over I'm wrapping up a couple of commissions then this fall/winter will be filled with Kaiju. Working on a secret project that I can't talk about yet, but as soon as I can I'll release the details. Besides that, I plan on getting back into resin and doing some small run releases. I've also been trying to push myself to doodle more, I do most of my "sketching" in clay but I can't carry that everywhere with me. Here are some of my recent doodles: I'll keep updating with news and doodles as I progress. Doodle from this morning
