This MASSIVE (just about 12" tall and heavy) resin casting of John "skullbeast" Cherevka's sculpt of the Great Old One just landed on my doorstep with a thud... I'm in Cthulhu rapture right now....











He needs some prep work, including seam scraping and a soapy scrubbing to remove the mold release residue, and then he'll be ready for paint. I don't know- I think it looks great that way... but I'm thinking it might also look incredible with a detailed/realistic paint up. However, I've got so many projects going that painting this guy will have to wait. For now, I'm just gonna clean/prep him, give him a coat of primer (flat black or grey), and put him on the shelf. I have plenty of time to think about how I'll approach his paint-up; I'll definitely post pics here when he's done!

Oh man, that Cthulhu is so amazing!!! I have been looking for a sweet statue for some time, so jealous. I think I actually prefer the unpainted version, as it shows the great sculpt detail.
