This thread really makes me wanna get something done.

I didn't think that the feet were bad at all. I got mine done at convention about 6 years ago. The worst part was healing them. Walking around with swollen water balloon feet is annoying.

I've been told that the hands and the feet feel similar to get done.

I have an appointment coming up next month, and I think I'm finally going to bite the bullet and get one of my palms done.

I share both of these sentiments. I'm really REALLY not into the realistic Star Wars tats that look like shitty ripoffs of poster-art. Shit like this is where it's at, take it & make it your own.

I also really wanna get my feet done, but mostly because that's where I see me putting something that's completely separate from & not disturbing the rest of my suit. I'm wth Jeff on it though, because I'm a hell of a stickler for taking time off work - I love overtime, and hate using vacation. The healing would absolutely blow since I'm adamantly against open footwear - if it's not shoes, I won't wear it. So I'd be forced to just sit around the house and not go out

My opinion on the feet vs. hands(top not palm) is that feet is about 100 times worse, my foot was soo swollen and I was limping. There's no damn muscle there just all bones. I did have to go to work with my foot done, it wasnt thaat bad and I'm a machinist so I didnt sit at all. I just made sure to get the tat on friday so I had 3 days till work.

I got my feet done on a Saturday, and spent Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of the following week walking around barefoot at work. I was working for a small software company at the time, and was pretty lucky that they were cool with shit like that. Haha.

I headed up to NJ today to book a few hours with Robert Ryan; appt is set for 9 May- very excited. More fill in on my leg. After YEARS of doing large pieces with the same few tattooers, it's nice to stretch out and get a few fill-ins from new folks. Pics when it happens.

I'm set to get a Ghidorah tat on Friday from my friend who does sweet old school stuff. My dilemma now is should I cover a small Ultraman tattoo I've had since 1988 or go small with the Ghidorah...

dont cover ultraman!!!! im covered myself and still have plans for more. finishing my left sleeve after my wedding then Id like to throw a Hedorah and an ultraman in somewhere. gotta find just the right spot in what remains of my vintage flesh!!

my vote would be to cover and go bigger with the Ghidorah.
A nice big piece is way better than shrinking something cool into too small a space.
I guess it all depends on how big/small you're talking.

I ended up going small. My friend the tattooist, Brian Corley, convinced me. The old Ultraman tat has some funny stories behind it so we left it.

He drew up this Ghidorah based on the box art from one of our favorite 80's toys- a small gold plastic model kit that had a wind-up Ghidorah with three different expressions on his face.

I love this tat, just the right amount of cartoony and sort of traditional looking.

My friend Brian is also the guy I started collecting toys with back in the day. He has an amazing collection and has never sold any of them off. He had a better job than me and he used to buy stuff from Pony toy go round etc. I need to get him to become an SB member! He has one of those jumbo plastic baseball throwing figures, I forget the kaiju's name...all kinds of great stuff.

I love it! I was going to say "go BIG", but it's terrific. The faces really do capture both a traditional vibe as well as a nice sense of humor.
